The engine isn't taking the place of any engine. There will still be a Speed and a normal V-Spec. I know there are a dozen engines with 8+ gallon on them still winning big races. This engine is very smooth, fast, and good fuel mileage. There are buggies getting 11+ min on a 125cc tank.

RyyRyy I'm sure they will last longer than a standard v-spec. It has a ceramic bearing, speed crank, and a speed rod. Those are all the things that make the speed last longer. It is basically a speed. The speed P/S is almost the same as the stocker anyway, and the backplate, crankcase, head button and carb are all the same anyway. Although I think I would get the Mugen JX before this pro mod.
thats what i was trying to find a difference in the pro mod and the worlds speed... i dont see what else the speed has other then a fancy head and a 130.00+ price increase

and i'm just happy to have a couple of the EB V-Specs that are still fresh... tunes better then a speed, feels better then a speed, and lasts longer then a speed...

Well I know the only difference between the normal and worlds speeds is the drilled head and a smaller carb insert. You can get the normal speed al headed engines fromcjm1126 for $400 shipped(if he still has some) so to me it is definately not worth it to get the worlds one. Might not even be worth it to get the pro mod for tower's price, when you could have a full speed for $400 shipped to your door. I got my speed from cjm. Very cool guy with fast shipping.

an original aluminum headed speed goes for around $400, but they updated it with a newer carb that has the idle screw on the other side of the carb. this updated one costs about $50 bucks more. then there's the worlds edition which has the new carb, and the drilled and lightened head, which is $100 bucks more than the last one. $400-$450-$550 and i'm not sure if they still offer the magnesium head, I've seen a couple at the hobby shop, but I'm not sure if they are producing them anymore.

Actually the one with the New 21JS carb(idle screw on the back side) is the same price as the origional. They made the update as sort of a running change. They did the same to the normal v-spec for 2008. The ones that CJM has are the new version with the 21JS carby for $400.
