Ok I got what may be a silly idea but I want to run it buy you guys for an opinion.

Someone private messaged me asking if I knew where to get a chasse protector. I have never seen anything like that but I suggested some heavy duty self adhering vinyl from a sign maker. Easy to change, comes in lots of colors and should be rather cheap.

Anyway this got me thinking about spray in bed liner and undercoat for trucks. I know this would ad weight but for a basher the added durability and strength could be worth it. The down side is the DIY, rattle can bed liners are crap. Rhino Liner is one of the best but it isn’t cheap to have it done.

Anyway I am thinking about contacting a local authorized Rhino Lining shop to see if they could spray it when they do the next truck bed.

Or have I finally lost my mind?

Some one is selling clear Lexan with 3M's 357 adhesive as a chassis protector. I think I saw it on Red RC.

I have a vacuum former at work, and I was entertaining the idea of making a lexan chassis guard that is paintable. you then could servo tape/velcro it onto the mud guards.

All I'd have to do is dissassemble my car down to the chassis, mudguards and bumper. throw it in my former, and suck some plastic down over it. Cut it out, cut out the fly wheel hole, I might try this for my 8ight?

I've seen the Rubbermaid clear shelf linner used. Not to bad,
pretty soft though. Vac' formed lexan!?! sweeet....

My club has a 8T Truggy Racer who's added a small
alloy wear plate to the bottom rear, @ 2''? work's Great!!
The front/ctr 2/3 is pristine!

I'm just putting a new chassis under a car and Really
gotta try something.
