Edit: It looks like you can run the motor left or right in the rear motor configuration. Also, they have the bearings in the front wheels and not in the hubs. a little disappointed in that.
I prefer bearings in the front wheels- less slop. I converted my sc10 to the protrac setup and tried all kinds of things to get the slop out, but in the end I switched back to the original wheels. It seems that the best way to reduce slop and unsprung weight is this way.

Consider that buggy bought once they hit the stores, looks very nice!

Does not resemble the Ifmar car with some key components.: Arms, carbon shocktowers, Carbon chassis. Alum braces.

When will the Production car start hitting the races?

I think the ball diff would be the preferred choice. Gear diffs seem to work better in 4wd where you have both front and rear counteracting and balancing each other. 2WD seems to "diff out". I just don't understand the slipper adjustment sticking out the opposite side like a Schumacher.

I know at my local track, gear diffs are the diff of choice for a number of reasons. The big ones are simplicity (fill it with oil and it's ready to go, should feel near the same for a long period until the oil breaks down... ball diff if the screw backs out a bit, you get loose) and ability to hold a load. We had a few guys with "barking" ball diffs. Especially with lower motors, the diff will act correctly for the action, but it's too loose to keep the high torque BL motors from causing them to slip, galling the pads.

Little bit concerned about the street price. i am in need of a new buggy but i might wait to see what the verdict is on the performance to the avg racer.

That is cheap for a rango... but then it does not have the cf options. Will wait for those i guess.

not bad, Durango's aren't known for being cheap, but that's not a bad price IMO

I agree it would be good to see some results with this car. I can understand the team guys wanting to race the prototypes at the worlds because it was a car they knew.

The whole point of a 3/4 gear gearbox is that you can get correct motor rotation to properly control the flight of the car. So it's kind of weird they took photos of the car with the motor on the "wrong" side for a rear motor car...
