TLR 8IGHT E 3.0 THREAD

I picked up the rtr (the one with the yellow body) version of the eight e 3.0 in November. I haven't been able to use it other than in my apartment. Has anybody been able to turn some laps in this car? I have been able to determine the servo sucks, but has anybody found any other weaknesses or strengths? I just wanted to get a bit of a leg up when our season opens. Any opinions or suggestions are welcome.

Don't use the short ackerman plate if you want to keep your servo safe ! Or you can drill the ackerman plate and the servo saver...
Bye !

Thanks for the advice Koulit and Hacker. Like I said I haven't been able to even run it for more than 10 ft. Too much snow outside...lol. This is my first 1/8 buggy and its very similar to my SCTE. The weakness on that truck is the driveshafts (broke 3 in a year). But if you say the saver and ackerman aere issues, i'll definitely pay attention to these issues. Thanks again

Unfortunately the problem is the same for all the users of the short Ackerman plate. If you don't make a mod, your servo saver will be liked "locked".
It will be an issue each time you will hit something.
Take a look at this :
The problem is here :
If you hit something, here are the servo saver movements for each side :
As you can see, there are conflicts between the parts !

Hi RandyJones,
Maybe your are a great driver too !
Of course you can run with the short ackerman plate without any issue, but you may have an issue if you hit something, then if you need your servo saver to do its job !

Hey guys, I have been checking some pictures and decided I am going to try the Tekno traktion drive since I have some nitro clutch bells and shoes laying around. I see Adam Drake has it on in most of the pictures you see of his old cars but my question is how does he make it work? Is it just as simple as flipping the center diff around to offset the size of the clutch? I can't quite get a clear enough picture of his setup but it looks like his spur gear is towards the front of the car.

Oh I need the servo saver....lol. Was hit head on at a demonstration with my SCTE by an 1/8 scale nitro running full bore and I was about 3/4. Broke a whole lotta stuff even a shock tower. Aren't those made of metal ? Even the servo screw hole was snapped off. My buddy who is a body man took it to work and rebuilt it. Still using it today.
