I saw the AE team drivers at the Carpet Nationals in Maryland do something very similar. They came out of the middle trans cover hole instead. Basically you are moving the upper link more horizontal, which reduces camber change, in fact it can be positive at times. It also lowers the roll center. They were doing this since the track 's carpet was pretty worn out. Maybe someone else can give a better explaination. Also check out this thread w/ Walter Henderson of team AE

siebenelch - awesome looking car. Is that chassis manufactured or did you have someone mill it out for you

Good morning!
Yes, the reason of the relocation is correctly answered. And it´s better, easier and faster to adjust the car.
The chassis had a heavy contact with my Dremel. It´s really hand-worked.
The ballcups are from HPI.
Greetings

I went onto the website, pretty cool. I did not see any set ups listed, maybe they were there but I don't read German. Can you help?

I have a little problem wit my car, when I drive my car, I feel like the car has too much steering. Like if I turn the steering wheel a little bit, I get more of a turn than expected. I have blue in da front and silver in back. My ride height is at 5mm and 5.5mm back. Thx!!!

Adjust your dual rate for the steering problem. Easiest Fix.

I dremeled out my chassis to move the batts closer as alot of people have done, however i have a few questions:
-i couldnt get the cell furthest back as far in as the others, since i would of have to dremel alot out of the bearing support thing on the spur gear shaft, is it okay to do it?
-i was using the foam that HPI includes with the micro to keep my batteries from moving outside, however it wasnt thick enough, what are people using to keep the batteries in?
-Also i dremeled out a little bit of my motor opening on the bottom, just like a few mm's on each side, i want to do more, but have people had problems with the chassis warping or anything running mod? also i saw josh cyrul dremeled out his motor clamp to allow air to pass through, anyone else tried this? know if it works?...
thanks!

stormperson, i had to dremel out the rear bearing support on my chassis when i moved the batts in. i used a small disc on a dremel to do the job. also i had to really shave down the rear drive cup since i went in so far with the batts and ended up blowing in out in mod so i think i will get the irs input cups.
but i havnt experienced any problems since dremeling it.
as for the foam i have used an old trinity foam bumper. i just cut it into shape.
i have taken out all of the area around my motor opening.

I had to grind the rear support as well. Get the IRS cups, you won't run into any clearance problems with those. As far as foam goes, most of the guys I have seen with this mod (myself included) have used foam strips cut from a bumper of some sort. Nice and dense, but light.
