I prefer the Carbon Approach, it should then allow for the possibility of using the TRF suspension blaocks on the rear to releive stress of the gearbox case, it is just a matter of how.....

But yes, to go from a central weight distribution to saddle packs is like going backwards.

I suppose the KM chassis would increase the amount of weight over the rear wheels, if thats actually necessary that I don't know.

I received my DF03 today but I'm going to hold off building it until;

a) I know the complete breakdown of what hopups/gearing/motors are allowed at the Australian TCS and,

b) The required hopups become available.

BTW: I got mine from RCCHAMP and it cost $179 AUD delivered - sweet!

Huh? DF-03 allowed for Australian TCS?
We're only allowed DF-02 for the Tamiya Asia Cup for 2006 over here.

Also - does anyone know the internal ratio on the DF03?

I'm trying to work out the gearing.

i shall hopefully be testing a B4 slipper on a new layshaft this weekend for the DF03 and will take some pics and report back.

Found the internal ratio - Thanks to Bender's site.

I ended up building the kit (I used all my blue ball nuts and low friction adjusters!) - although I'm missiing a servo so I can't drive it yet

I'm still waiting for the new Tamiya hop ups to finish it off.

update on the slipper for the DF-03, I had to do some 'alterations on the slipper shaft to allow the spur gear to sit closer to the motor plate so the gear cover would fit, the shaft is being sent back today, I know Neil is sending the small stock of gears he has for hardenning this week, and that will take a week to do, so I expect to have a complete assembly, working in about 10 days or so.

Racedit before using the slipper and it would kill the rear diff as it puts down the power with no mercy, but that was with a 10x2 on stock gearing and grass. Not yet had the chance to run it with the slipper unit (as half the gearbox was still with Neil@RW) but the spur gear will work exactly the same and basicaly be the same spec as the Yokomo BX and the JConcepts BJ4W.

The slipper will take the stress off the rear diff.
