Default Newb, looking for a point in the right direction.

I recently bought a Cen ct5. I have no complaints, it's my first nitro. I got it running and broken in. It's pretty cool. Still working on the tuning. I have a good bit of elevation and very low temps here, so it's tricky. I wanted to know if anyone could give me a few pointers on tuning, and also explain how to pick a tuned pipe and what it does exactly. Just ball park explanation. I see that some tuned pipes have a small set screw at one end? what's that for? Looking forward to some replies. TIA. tyler.

The links for the following are in my signature:

For engine tuning, checkout the "Nitro engine basics with Ali Mansoor" videos on my YouTube channel.

For tuned pipe selection, checkout the ".12 Engine" section of the Nitro Knowledge base.

The set screw is used to attach the pipe to a pipe holder, which is a rod that sticks out from the car. See some of the photos on my Flickr page.

Hope this helps.

I think i'm starting to understand the tuning more. i guess it's going to be trial and error for me, a lot haha. as for the set screw, that makes sense. thats what i thought, but then i thought maybe it would some how change the pipe and power? idk lol if i look at the .12 will it matter? i have a .15.

oh, and thanks for the help.
