I'm running the 3mm chassis and the 2.5mm top deck on carpet. I think it makes the car react faster and it made the car more consistant.

" Just after any opinions on option thicker chassis (3mm and the like).
If anyone has tried either top or bottom deck or both for thatt matter, I would like to see your opinion.
Thanks

Adam"

If you run on carpet with foams, I feel it is a worthwhile investment. i have seen guys be fast with the stock setup on carpet. Most of these guys were really fast to start with, however. I think the car is a lot more consistent with a 3mm setup on foam tires. The regular guys who have gone this way actually look better on the track , which might be more telling than what they have to say.

If you run rubber on carpet, I tend to think it would not hurt you, especially at bigger events. That being said, it is more critcal for foam than rubber. Last year's Novak race in WI also had several Pro4s almost fresh out of the box in the A, so maybe I'm wrong......

If you run asphalt, talk to Erik

Jamie!!
I'm not running your setup anymore. I tried it out that week but I just couldn't get it to suit my driving style. I went back to my old setup and made some changes with Jay and the car is running real well now. It has a ton of steering but not so much it scrubs speed. I'm really happy with it. I did learn a few things from your setup though. Now, what's this I hear about you selling your Pro 4!! Say it isn't so!!!!!

Default Erik Shauver, that's the reason I will get a Pro 4.

I spent a lot of time making sure all the little details the pro drivers used to do by hand on other cars are automatically incorporated into the fit of the stock parts.
You guys come out and say that there's a problem, I respect that kind of honesty and that HPI is willing to openly say there is a problem and they will fix it. The fact that companies try to cover things up makes me very irritated. I will faithfully support a company that's honest. I don't need parts sent out to me, I just want to see things fixed, but the fact you guys do that is a real tear jerker in my book. That's great! I'm very please to read those kind of statments.

I'm running foam tires, so there is plenty of traction. The thick chassis really makes the car change directions faster.

I run my Team PRP 3mm chassis kit on carpet with foams and it made a big improvement to the way the car handled. At first the car was rolling in the corners, but after I stiffened up the springs a bit the car was really quick around the sweepers and good at changing direction, it was much better than the stock chassis.

I haven't used the HPI spool but I am currently running a Titanium Racing spool. I really like the way the car drives with it and prefer it to a one-way

I got my spool yesterday. It's really cheap and I'm sure it's more durable than the TiR spool.
