The aluminum towers part #igw005 is not threaded at all. I am so confused. This can't be the first one they sold. HEEELLLPPPP!!!

Jim, the upper shock mounts are installed by running the long screw through you choice of mounting position, and then a nut is threaded on from the other side of the tower. This locks the upper mount in place and keeps the proper spacing for the shocks.

My problem is the upper hinge pin is threaded. And the new piece is not

Jim, I think it's possible to flip the screw around and install it from the back side, threading into the molded upper suspension mount. It's a little annoying to have to remove it when it comes time because the screw head will not be easily accessible. The alternative is to go with a 40mm hinge pin, which is IF111-40. I hope that helps. Our customer service dept. was also looking into this separately, so they should be in contact with that information.

Jim, I think they sell them separately so you don't have to buy new hinge pins if you already have them, or if they weren't damaged. It saves the extra cost of the hinge pins if you don't need them. Then again, if you've hit something hard enough to bend that shock tower, you're probably going to need new hingepins too. I agree - if it were my call, perhaps it would be better to include them in the package. I at least hope you get your car up and running soon.
