I only had a broke front assembly once (but not because wear,... crashed badly when Rx refuses to work properly)
universal joints are good investments,... lost and bent 2 sets already(coz slipping) the fronts,... ( using rear dog-bones on front-side is possible too, did it as emergency remedy,... but turns out it's better than the designated front bones,... no more bending,... well, maybe it's just me and my front setting though, don't quote me on this)
carbon steering plate helps too,... so does the shock towers ,...
a tip for the steering posts,... sand the alumumium poles a bit,... the use metal polisher to polish it then add very thin grease,... wipe w/ plastic sheet (pastic bag),... then change the top and lower bushing w/ ball bearings,.. when installing the screw and nut, don't tighten too much,... just make sure it holds it in place, then add thread locker,... you'll get a very smooth steering (stock posts are having a bit resistance box-stock), and smooth steering helps this car a lot handling wise...
center gearbox,.. on the 2nd spur and 2-speed clutch assembly,.. make sure there are no burrs around the setting hole on the 2nd spur, and sand or grind the head of the allen screw a bit,... I have 2 FW05 and both got shifting problems before this was done...
... lastly,... if you got enough cash to blow,... get the Kawahara front and mid conversion,.... I don't have so much cash to blow,
please add any other things that you have done to your FW guys,... I'm not a great fan of hop-ups though,... but something that really helps the performance won't hurt, right?!

39t ring steel ring gears for the front and rear diffs are essential. the kit ones will wear out in no time.
Also get the MTX-3 ball cup ends with the delrin inserts to tighten up the suspention movement
Havent got the front and centre conversion yet but next on the list.
The front conversion will help a problem at the front. If you catch a front wheel in a bump the top suspention pivot will bend back to add toe out as there is nothing to support it. The front conversion adds a bar across the back between the uppr pivots making it stronger and able to keep the front settings in a crash.
The centre conversion increases the internal drive ratio for more top speed.
Cheers

I can't say the same for kit pinions though...

Are these the steel ones, or the same material as the kit ones?

Good start. I'll let you know how the MTX-3 clutch bell and pinion gears work and if it improves top speed

Thanks for the link, Ziggy.
When you are talking about the MTX-3 clutch bell, are you using the centax clutch?
I just received my car in the mail today.
This is probably a retarded question, but I am not sure I understand what the Kawahara Center Conversion does? Does it replace the ring gears in the diffs? And, if so, then I assume there isn't a need to get the steel ring gears?

I thought the centre conversion changes the spur gears but see on the pics that its 2 bevel gears so think your right!!
I dont know anybody that has boufght one so dont really know
I'm just back from the track and one of the outdrives on the front one way broke and I lost a dogbone. I will get the UJ's for it and use the one way outdrives from the EVO
Cheers

Centre Conversion is the 0.8 Ring Gears, 0.8 Input shafts and central drive shafts.
Chassis Conversion is Chassis, Top Deck, Gearbox Mounts and new Brake Assembly.

so does it change the internal drive ratio?
#1275
I am told that it gives a ratio of 2.66
I think the 39T ratio is 3.0
So yes it would change the ratio.
Centre conversion Diff Rings are 1x45t & 1x46t, input shafts are 2x17t.
