I just finished building my new 008 and gotta say one of the best cars I ever built!!! Was wondering if the fixed piston or the adjustable piston in the shocks if one is better than the other?

I prefer the feel of the fixed piston as long as you're fairly settled on a shock setup.

If you envision yourself wanting to do lots of piston hole/dampening feel changes then the adjustable ones are nice for that.

Thanks Steve, I see what your saying. I think I'll use the adjustable ones for now to see what setting works then use the fixed piston when it's sorted out. Also Steve I want to Thank You guy's at Novak for the great customer sevice and FAST turn around

On most of the latest rubber indoor carpet setup team drivers prefers +0.75 roll centre (lower)
why is that? To get rid off extra steering or grip???

RC America and XRAY dealers have lowered their price on the T2'008 since the T2'009 was announced. I don't know how cheap you're looking to go but new T2'008 kits are going for $400 - $450.

I've just picked up a 008 EU that was built with the 2.375 drive terrain.

What would be the reason to purchase the other parts to convert it to a 1.7?

for running the brushless motors 13.5 and 17.5 to get the FDR right. Also with the 34/20 pulleys theres less wear on the belts and the drive train seems more free.

but if small track with hair pin ... use 2.375 gear ratio

one reason to raise the front roll center is to help the front tires not overheat. more common with tires with larger air gap. (heats up faster) Similar to using the front al stiffener aft of the servo saver.

What if you did not change this, and instead only change to the 20t.

Could you not just use the higher internal gear ratio of 1.9 (38 Spool / 20t) for your calculations?
