Its from my own d418.Yes shocks are attached to shock tower hole and 3mm spacer to line shocks on better angle. It has like 3mm more downtravel than normal inside shock position.

I understood it is of your car, but I was wondering if you saw Ronnefalk or someone else doing this - and where you might have found that picture. Thanks for sharing the idea, BTW.

Gearing depends very much on the specific type of motor. Not all 13.5 motors are the same, cf. the label on the current generation of Tekin motors.

Most motors come with instructions that list gearing recommendations.... I would start there.

Hi Vulva - thanks for sharing that front shock tower modification. However, after looking at your mod vs. the pictures of Ronnefalk's car - that's not what he did. You can see that your shocks are even with the bottom of the shock tower where it meets the plastic part of the tower where Ronnefalks is inward and upward (but dramatically different from the OEM holes). I wonder how we can replicate those locations to see how it feels?

We have to move front carbon shock tower part 3mm more towards front and drill new holes to that. It should be similar like my mod so front has more grip and softer feeling.

Yep - I'll try to find out how to locate those hole locations. It was for a clay track and the rear setup was different as well. It might not be a good mod for Astro and/or carpet as I believe this car needs a stiff front end for those surfaces.

Anyone here know what the differences are between the HB aluminum steering rack compared to the Exotek one? I was going to get the Exotek one, but the exchange rate to Australia is currently pretty bad but can get the HB one locally. I just see that the HB steering rack is stated to be optimal for astro/carpet. I'm going to be running this on dirt, so wanted to see if it'd be still suitable. Just eyeballing the product photos, it seems the placement of where the ballstuds get inserted compared to where the bearing sit seem pretty similar between the two. Thought I'd check here if anyone knows. I'm primarily trying to reduce some of the slop that's inherent with the plastic kit steering rack and see lots of recommendations for the Exotek one from the D413 forum. So hoping for the same out of the HB aluminum rack.

Cheers!

I had exotex steering rad and bought also hb aluminium rack. Only difference is that you dont need 1mm shim to get stock geometry and you can have on carpet much more accerman by reversing rack. So you can buy eather exotek or hb and your fine.

You adjust how much the lower shock eyelet is threaded. There are guide lines at that end of the shock shaft.
