"but you are wrong" doesn't quite sum it up. I am only providing my advice to the OP to help him resolve a problem. I have over 25 years experience in this hobby as well as a machinist and what I described as being the critical measurement to look for, is what I have found resolves the spacing problem described. This can also be achieved by grinding down the "big" end to reduce overall height. It will also reduce the big end diameter as well since the collet is cone shaped. Grinding down the top (small end) will do nothing unless the nut is hitting the collet and that is a different problem. This typically only happens with thin flywheels. If you don't concur with my advice, you can provide some sort of counter argument but...
