We are only a little more than 3 weeks away from the 2013 Southern Nationals! Get your entries paid now!
For those of you that haven't attended this race in years past, I want to let you know about our indoor pitting. There is plenty of room inside tha air conditioned arena for everyone to pit. You will need to bring your own table, chair, power strip and cord. All areas will be first come first serve. There is plenty of power for everyone. You may also pit just outside the arena under the roof if you perfer that. We will be watering the track periodically to control dust to keep the indoor air quality as best we can. The facility is equipped with an amazing exhaust system that pulls out all the nitro fumes very quickly as well.
There will be no practice on Thursday although you may arrive at the arena and unload, check-in and hang out if you wish. Alot of people have done this in the past to check out the track layout and visit with other racers.
Practice will start about 7am Friday morning and go until a continuous line forms at the driver's stand. Then it will be 5 minute controlled sessions after that until things die down in the evening, then we will go back to open practice until 9:45pm. There will be a 5 minute CORR truck only practice at the top of every hour. No fuel bottles will be allowed on pit lane during ALL practice sessions. You will be required to turn marshall after all of your practice sessions. No practice will be allowed on Saturday morning before driver's meeting.
Driver's meeting will begin at 7:30 am and qualifiers will start at 8am. We will run a very quick schedule so please pay attention to not miss your qualifier. After qualifiers, we will run some lower mains until about 11:45pm ao the building can be cleared by midnight. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT CHECKING WITH THE RACE DIRECTOR TO SEE WHAT MAINS WILL BE RAN THAT NIGHT! WE DON'T WANT YOU TO MISS YOUR MAIN!
I have had a few questions about rules for the CORR/SCT trucks so I will try to clarify this now.
2wd & 4wd CORR/SCT: 2s battery limit, full body, SCT wheels/tires only, tires must be completely under the body, front and rear bumpers shall extend the width of the body, no 1/8th scale chassis, Roar rules apply to width and wheelbase dimensions, no motor or ESC limits.
If you have not paid, please do so now. If you have....Thanks! It takes alot of pre-paid entries to put a race on like this.
See ya'll soon.
