I managed to get in contact with the owner of Xenon. Unfortunately the chances of having a Rev 8 in my hands before the Japan Nationals (July) doesn't look good. He's contacted Speed Merchant about kits and parts and has yet to receive an email in response.

Does the REV8 use the standard IRS drive hub or the 3mm offset hub?

When it comes to IRS, standard is for cars made for brushed motors, the 3mm offset is for cars made for brushless. I suspect the only reason IRS even still makes standard ones is for oval guys.

Just unpacking everything from the race last week in Colorado
Killer event, may have to go back again next year
