go 4 KO or the futaba 3pk.
if u find futaba servos slow, get KO digitial servos.
i believe KO 2143 should b more than enough.
personally,for servos,i like futaba s9550.

Of the 3 you mention, the M8 is the oldest.

On the other hand: All 3 are great, so I believe you cant go wrong with either.

Personally, I find that anything above KO Presto / Futaba 3PDF / Airtronics MX-3, is overkill.

If I wasnt on a budget, and I already had the best charger, best batteries, a setup system, best ESC, best-you-name-it, then as the last thing, I would MAYBE upgrade my KO Presto.

Recently I saw photos of a new M8 (same basic apperance, but with some carbon fiber look on the body), but more significantly, it looks like Airtronics will be releasing its own snyth system.

I think the photos were from the Tokyo Toy Fair or something.

Love the M8
Looks good, feels good. If you wrap these rubbery tapes that you use on tennis racqets, the M8 feels really solid in your hands.

3PK rocks!
Full of feutures!
You can transmit PPM/ PCM/ HRS out of the box and It also looks like a killer!
(The transmitting time kinda sucks with the stock pack, with the light on all the time, batts won't last more then 3 hours, With it off all the time, it lasts 6 hours. Of course, these numbers will dramatically increase when you make your self a nice 2300mah AA pack)

I have to admit, the M8 is the easiest to use, and very comfortable to use, and easily personalized(screws/anodizing/ect.)

But I will still love the 3PK, and 3PJ...

Cole said anything more then MX3 is overkill,we have( 3 )MX3's and love them. They have more features then we need. They are cheaper then the M8 by a long shot. MX3 has memory for 3 models M8 has ten. How many cars do you own and race, if less then 3 MX3 is a great radio. Just my .02 cents worth. And with the money you save you can buy more motors/batteries/and other needed stuff.(Can never have enough stuff)

I'll say it's worth at least 2 cents!

But seriously, it's sick but I have 3 cars (B4, TB Evo III, Mini-Z MR-02) and plan to add more (F201 F1, XRay M18, maybe Mugen MTX-3 and a 1/8 gas offroad...) I actually have a MX-3 now (and love it) but wanted to decide which way to go before I started buying any more servos and receivers.

BTW, the availability of the AM27 tx module for Mini-Z is another reason to go with the KO or M8.

Dont the the MX-3 got 4 memories? It's what they say here

Anyway, you got more cars than that. Personally, I tend to have primary and secondary cars... do you race them all, or do some of them collect dust?

I actually think it has a 5 car memory...but not sure.

I am an old RCer returning to the hobby. I used to race 2WD & 4WD offroad and 4WD dirt ovals. This is back in the mid 80's (scary). I've been to the tracks a few times but yet to actually participate in a race this time round. I got the 3 cars now and am interested in getting the others. Obviously I won't be able to race them all (and be competitive) but would at least run them all on the tracks whenever I get a chance.

I am sure you guys know how the story goes. Used to have plenty of time to tinker with my cars and no money to upgrade but the opposite is true now.

Ohh, I really recognize this (even though I'm on a kinda of a budget).

It sounds like you've sorted the 3PK out - why cant you decide between Helios and M8? (Or is it Mars instead of Helios)?

Personally I would go for the Helios, I cant see any downside (well, maybe price...)

It might require new servos and RX's, but you could limit these RX's and servos to your main cars....

Or is it the synth module, that matters?

What about Graupner XS-6 (choose "R/C units", "Computer Radios", "XS-6"), 22 channels to choose from, 10 model memory. And of course, some more All for a quite fair price (at least here in Europe)
