Good news actually, I used the contact function on EGR's web page and got a response same day. The missing gear diff and blingie rear hubs will be sent to me. They are insistent that the chassis is the carbon version, it certaintly looks like carbon, and measures 2.59mm thick.
I'm happy with the quick response from EGR, and will get on with the build.
Pissed to impressed all in one day.......

Full carbon chassis or FRP center carbon outer?

Get the edge of the chassis wet with a little water. You can tell easier if yours is full carbon or fiberglass laminated with 2 outer carbon layers. The full carbon has multiple lines (layers) when you look at the edge. Also when wet the color and transparency or lack of it is even through out the edge. On the FRP sandwiched one you should see 2 lines each representing the 2 layers of carbon on the outside. Plus the center fiberglass core is more translucent.
The above can be apparent if you CA the edge of your chassis.

Atomic never changed the box even on the interim Carbon chassis only, no gear diff and Al rear upright version.

@durtbag. Be glad now you have an extra ball diff. I'm sure if it was packed right to begin with you wouldn't be getting it.

Received my Limited Ed.n an hour ago.
The box is exactly the same as the "stock version" but theres a sticker in wich is described as Limited Edition. Lefft the car in the package and back to work i've found an E-Mail from EGRmart:

"Hi, thank you for using our products.

We are deeply sorry that the VM-II 1/10 M Series Touring Car - Limited Edition has some packing problem.

The following parts are missing,
VM-067 - Gear Differential set (For VM-II)
VM-020-AL - VM-II Alu. Rear Upright

For apologize, the missing parts are sent via Registered Air Parcel at 4-May-2012, the Tracking No is:xxxx xxxx xxxx x "

Well no big deal, they are serious and just in time to avoid me a bad surprise.
Apreciate EGRmart's timing and service .

Yeah, I got the same e-mail this morning. They must have packaged a few wrong and are now correcting the shortages, good service. And we get a ball diff as well.

I got the same email as well. Got 2 on the way.

Any tip and tricks for building the car?

Just a regular build, I used the 3mm X 8mm button heads for the bulkhead caps b/c the 6mm are too short and don't go deep enough into the bulkheads for a positive lock. Ball cups are really not tight enough on the ball studs, I will replace these later.
Here is my fresh build.

Is it just me or does it look like EGR Mart is no longer supporting the VM2?

I'm kinda feeling the same way. I think the class really never took off and sales of kits are low, so eventually the VM-II will no longer be made. To bad, I think the kit is pretty good, for the last price paid. It was more of a novelty buy for me, hey, a TC mini for much less than I have in my M05. I will have to make a large parts order and hope for the best.

Whoops, nevermind! The VM2 tab on their front page was not linking right. Phew, glad to see parts are still available. I'll order a kit for backup parts hopefully once they are back in stock again.

Ok, I take it back, I'm glad I didn't order a VM2 last time.

Looks like the first real big update for the VM2 is here, lipo version! Thinner chassis with no cutouts and a host of minor updates. Rear gear diff standard. Says it will be ready to ship in June. Going to order one!
