Do you think a brushless motor is worth paying 500% extra?

how much longer will a brushless motor really last?

There is absoulty no comparison what so ever!!!!
A brushless motor will out last a brushed with NO MAITNANCE by far.
Brushless motors have consistant power for your whole run and race after race you just charge batteries and race thats it!
I think you will get this same response from everyone that has switched to brushless. I would pay an extra $100 for brushless over brushed if that tells you anything

Absolutely correct. I have switched to brushless in everything that I run that allows it. I also run Lipo in every class that the rules allow.

No reason to ever go back. So much more time to talk to drivers, set up vehicles, help other drivers, etc.

Brushless and Lipo make RC plug and play.

I'm down to one brushed motor/setup and as soon as I can stand to run it enough to finish wearing it out, its gone. I run my brushless truck nearly everytime. There is no comparison, the extra run time and performance and lack of maintenance - well like they say.....priceless, lol!

Brushless all the way!! I havnt had to touch a brushed motor in like a year and a half, And if by some chance someone sees me running a brushed motor please set up an intervention for me!!!

IF they really did cost 500% more, then yeah, they would probably be worth it.

But since they are only 0% to maybe a little over 100% more than any brushed motor worth my hard earned bucks, it's a no brainer. Yes they maintain their power during a run better. Which is a much longer run due to better efficiency. And unless you overheat them I don't think anyone really knows how long they will last.

Sure it's fun and satisfying to get a brushed motor, especially a stocker, running sweet. But it's more fun to work on chassis setup and driving!

and its not just a racing thing, I wouldn't trade my brushless bashers back to brushed for anything. Who wants to cut coms or change brushes when you could be flying down the street or through the yard?

I'd never go back to brushed. I haven't had to do anything but oil the bearings on my brushless motor, as opposed to having to get my comm trued and brushes replaced every couple weeks on my brushed motors. In the end, the money and headaches you save are definitely worth it.

i ran brushed 27t in my truck last year when brushless wasnt the biggest thing at the track. when brushless and lipo were hitting the stores like crazy it time for brushless. i was ridiculously slow but when i got brushless no problems no brushes just put it in and its as fast as everyone else.

I find the novak 10.5 has the most rip out of all the 10.5's, generally i am loving my 2 novaks over my two orions.

Brushless motors do not cost that much, you pay $40 for a decent brushed motor and brushless motors are around $75

yes brushless is better, but if you get a quality brushed motor it can be loads of fun to!

I love my brushless motors, but they are too much for my kids. So they are runing MM with 16t and 20t brushed motors. Its all in what you need. Think about it this way, if you put the money into brushed to get a system that would run as hard as a brushless system. It would cost just about the same as one of the more affordable brushless systems, without the runtime. Most good hand wound brushed motors cost the same as brushless motors.

I must be in the stone age!!!!! I still run brushed, and I run aginst almost entirely all brushless and I really enjoy beating them whe I can. Yes they do have more overall power and they do need alot less maintenance but I still love my brushed motors!!!!!
