Talking STS ENGINES!!

This is the official sts engine thread for thier .21 and .28's. They seem to be really good engines for the price, and for people who race on a "BUDGET"!! Here we can discuss them and help each other with problems. I just bought the .28 5 port pro truggy engine and there .28/.30 pipe will see how it does, heard its a monster though. So lets keep it going "STS"

*PLEASE HATERS DONT FLAME THIS THREAD*

I have an STS .21D Pull Start for sale. Great power band and loves the MC59plugs w/ a JP-4 pipe.

Engine has about 7/8 of a gallon through it. Upgraded to a bump start race mill and its just sitting around.

PM if interested. Its sitting on consignment at my LHS for 110. It does have scratches on the Cooling Head but then again who hasn't flipped their Buggy.

Default sts

I ran a STS S21T for a little bit at club races. It lasted 5 hard gallons with no problems and was super fast for the money. If you can drive you can win with a S21T I ran two tanks through the motor before I raced it for the first time (break-in) that is all I had time for and it still ran great for 5 gallons lol.

I have an STS sitting here on my desk, people look at it and think it's cool. I have 3/4 gallon on it and the rear bearing started to break apart causing the con rod to scratch the case and all the metal pieces tore up the piston and sleeve.

for the coin you'd be better off getting a nova 3port...I have had a sts and while it makes good power it didn't last long..within 1.5 gallons the bearings started to chip and the piston and sleeve cracked.engine was ran in optimal temp range of 200-230max. now that's not to say things haven't changed but for the price you can get a proven engine and not have to second guess it's lifespan..just my 2 cents..No hate or flame
