Absolutely right, I start with the small punch x 4 and increase the diameter if needed.

This might help a lot of guys out...In the detailed description of our wheels and tire section, it will tell you if there are pre-punched breather holes or not.

I use the closed cell foams so I can get away with just two holes. To be honest when I used the softer foams I only used two holes and didn't notice a difference. But that could be just my lack of experience.

Agreed! But I only ever use 2 holes. I just use different diameter holes depending on the foam. Truggy tires get bigger holes than buggy tires do right off the bat. Then I adjust from there depending on foam.

Yes, I have and noticed absolutely no difference between 2 and 4 holes. As long as they get the job done, I'd rather have fewer holes in my tires.

Cool that it works for you.
I have found that 4 work better for me because when one is compressed, (sealed to the ground) having 3 left open disperses the pressure in a more linear fashion.

I honestly don't think into it that far. I just punch some holes in my tires so air can get out.

+1 to me the fewer holes you can put in your tires and still have them effective the better off you will be.

Yep, and 10 years ago I ran oily 15% heli fuel in my surface rigs because they ran on it... And it was under $10.00 a gallon....Then when I found a forum of people to talk to, that all ended.....I truly do understand.

LOL I'm no rookie bud. I don't need a forum to create an opinion about things. I've been doing this awhile. I just like as few holes in my tires as possible. Less holes for dirt to get into on the track or water to get into when washing them. If 2 holes will vent the air enough(they do), I'd much rather have that than 4 holes. Anyway, run your tires how you want. 2 holes are perfectly adequate especially with the newer foams that don't vent as much air. I don't think it really matters how many holes you use. I use 2, you use 4. That's cool, but you won't convince me that 4 is better.

It's all good, but you and I both know that you're going to try 4 smallish holes on your very next set.
Just think of me as you're adding those two extra holes.

Not gonna happen! I've already done it and saw no positive difference.
