Choose from any on this list and you probably can't go wrong:

Associated TC3
Losi XXX-S
HPI Pro 4
Xray Evo2/FK
Yokomo MR4TC SD

Those 5 will be the easiest to support and get parts for.

Good luck with your decision.
Yeah, you can get a used one, but you need spare parts, their everywhere, you just need the money. I mean, that Pro 3 on Ebay looks like a good deal, but in the long run you may have problems. The thing with the pro 3 is that it lacked important hop-ups, so it didn't sell.

BRain McGreivey-
Huh?
PRO 2 parts are everywhere and they are cheap!
that pro 3 is already hopped up pretty well...

Malibulsv-
For first electric touring car i would buy the pro 2,
It breaks the least and the parts to replace the broken parts (if you manage to break some) are everywhere. Any shop that stocks HPI parts should have some.

Thanks all for the info, I think I will just go with the Pro 2 for the first car. If I get hooked on electric then I can always upgrade with little lost cost. I also have a R40 that I love! Thanks again I really do apprieciate the quick responses.

Good choice. Im sure you will be happy with it.

The Pro 2 is still a great car. Loaded with features and nice parts.

I'm sure of the handling of that Pro3 above - it's hopped ou like crazy, but not too sure... Heard too many bad stories about the Pro3...

The Pro2 is still competitive. I'm beating Yoke SD's, TC3's, Evo III's and more with my Pro2 on carpet.

This way you have 100$ for other stuff.

But ensure the car is in a good shape. If you need to change all the ball bearings, the diff balls, some of the plastic parts and more, you might get a bad surprise....

Also check parts support at you LHS.

If you have to buy the other stuff too, get a good charger form the very beginning. It's the worst point to save money on.

Looking at both cars, the pro-3 seems to have the hopups on it that HPI should have put on the vehicle in the first place.

I think if I was going to between the two and only consider these two, I would probably get the Pro-3 based on what I can see in the pictures, and the fact that you probably can get parts easier for the Pro-3 than the Pro-2.

Get the Pro2

it's VERY durable for indoor carpet racing.

besides the Pro 3 is just a POS.... HPI's biggest mistake ever.

If your looking for a low buget used inoor TC try looking for a used TC3 or Losi XXXs both of wich would be perfect.

Pro2=Good Choice.

By the way, you never buy "spare parts" for a Pro2. You get another Pro2 on Ebay for 50 bucks, tear it down, and then you have "spare parts".

Everytime you smack a wall really hard with your Pro2, think to yourself, "Okay, I'd be changing an A-Arm or a Hub Carrier right now with a TC3".

(It's okay...I drive a TC3!)

I've driven both cars...they are both competative...I did pour alot of money into the Pro3 to make comptetive..after that the car was awesome... I did better with that car than any other car I've owned...'til the Pro4 came along.
The Pro2 is solid and built like a tank..still capable of beating todays's cars. If the Pro2 was updated to the Pro4 suspension and steering components..the car would be lethal. something I've thought about doing as a side project. If you don't grab that Pro2 for bid... I will!

Thumbs up

Pro 2 all the way , biggest mistake i ever made was ditching the Pro2 for the heap of junk Pro3. Never brought a HPI since , dont think im anti HPI as i was doing the UK HPI challenge at the time and was sport class runner up that year.

Hey malibulsv if you bought that pro2 i have a few carpet set-ups for you. Also I have been working on the same frontend they used for the pro2 in japan back when it was highly wanted. Also I am running my car with the 15 tooth pulleys and with no break and a one way diff for stock class carpet and this car is super fast. Just this past week i raced a few friends for fun and it was sweet how fast i could take coners over some of my other friends and they have some newer and nicer cars then i do. Also i now this thread is old but i am just putting in my 2 cents
