I found out that good ol Cameron did not race his main becuase he did not want too, it could been something else but nothing was said. From what I know about attending the world races is that you must qualify to race and not every one goes so their are open spots and if one is quick and lucky they may be able to race.

Where do you guys book your travel?

I just flew to Italy and it was 1200USD and some people on the plane paid about 800 round trip.

Hotels cost about 100USD a night.

NO WAY if cost you 15K to run unless you're big pimping.

I forgot to mention my 430 Spyder rental and pompinos every night.

Racing at the highest level of any motorsport is expensive, but it's not 15K. 4-6K is business class tickets, and even then expensive.

Business class ticket to Italy = $7000-$8000
One week of car rental = $400
One week of hotel room = $1500
5 Engines = $3000
2 Chassis = $1200
Spare Parts = $300
Eating, drinking and having a good time = $1000

Taking out the TQ car in the first corner = priceless

Forgot to mentioned... I did flew first class last time I attended the worlds! Plus I flew my friend in to pit for me. Attached is the pic of all the gear before I packed them in a box. At the end, it would cost 1 - 2k on excess luggage if I flew economy anyway.

Yes pimping and drinking every night cost too!

Default World's

I never have found any decent info or write-ups on the racing this week. Photos and results are posted on http://www.messinaworlds.com/
Would have been nice to find some articles. Nothing on Sgrid or Serpent sites either. Guess Mike M. is having difficulties with internet over there.

It is VERY untypical to find nothing on Serpent's website or on mytsn. This usually only happes when they are having problems.

This time it looks like they found out why nobody likes Picco engines in onroad racing.

Maybe Alberto Picco needed the last blue engines for himself, since he's qualified pretty high

Those numbers do seem to be quite high.

Where do you make your travel arrangments? www.screw-me.com?

7-8K even for a B-class ticket is very high and wo'd be flying to a hobby event on b-class anyways. That's where you use your Skymiles or equivalent!!

1.5K for a hotel room for one week? You think they'll let you take your car to the room to wrench on it at the Hilton?

And how the heck do you plan to spend 1K on fast food? j/k

Obviously you've not flew business class lately. Good luck finding a business class ticket from LA to Italy for less than $7000

I just checked www.opodo.de for a flight from Hamburg to LAX, leaving next Saturday, staying one week in LA.

Round trip prices are between 2,850 Euros up to 11,000 Euros.

Seems like there is still some saving potential when you choose sensibel.....

Sadly we are not going to Hamburg, or Düsseldorf for that matter of fact. Surely one try to make as little stops on the way as possible, won't you agree Mr. sensible?
