Evo's can be had now easily. And the "Red" edition is very limited and you won't see that for a couple months. I have had the 414M2 and now the EVO3. Sold the 414 to my friend. Anyways, the 414 is still a nice car. Not quite as fast as my EVO3 but smooth and fast nontheless. The 414 comes with spare arms, hubs, knuckles, and hinge pins (at least mine did.) I've only broken the C'hubs on mine. So you can stock up on those. Alot of parts for the 414 are shared with the TA04. The caster blocks/c hubs/ or whatever you want to call them are 4°. You can use TA04 to get 6°. I have seen arms broken. But rarely. Fronts belts are another thing if you run mod. The 414 shares the same belt as a TA04. But the rear belt is different. If you go with aluminum bones, stock up on them. They bend easy up front. Get the shim kit. You can do alot of good setups with them. Also they can take out all the slop in the a-arms. Anyways, it's a nice car. I just like the EVO better now. Hope you enjoy it! Oh yeah, another note...the 414M2 will require more maintance than the EVO3 or G+ since the diffs are exposed!

whats the best place to order the 414mII, i was gonna order it from speedtech. Does anyone know of another good well priced online dealer. Also whats the best place to order tamiya parts online

it seems as if the 414mII is about to be phased out by the evo III. I need a car that will go the distance, so it looks like the evo III for me since, it just came out. I don't want to buy a car now only to find out the the manufacturer will soon come out with a replacement

just my opinion here.. regarding the 414m2 phasing out, dont you think the evo3 will phase-out too? in a span of about 5 years (corect me if im wrong) the evo series from tamiya has evolved (evo1 --> evo2 --> evo3). there might be a possibility that an evo4 might come out since tamiya is always revising their r/c cars..

why not take into your list other cars.. and since ordering parts through online stores is no big deal, you could go for the barracuda or shumacher or some other big buck r/c kit.. just my 2 cents.

414mII is 5 years old already and the evoIII is brand new. But i just want a solid winner. I just need a good, solid, winning car. Thanks for the input. If you have other suggestions let me know

i have both, and personally, i think it boils down to which you like. the Evo has the shaft acceleration advantage down low, but the belt is very smooth, and flowing. prolly depends on the surface you run on. i personally think the 414 is much more aesthetically pleasing... but i mostly run on tight tracks, so shaft it is usually.

is the evo's one-way really faulty,i've read alot of stuff about it breaking, i'm really looking a that evo III, this is the only thing stopping me from buying it right now.

i never had trouble with the one-way, although i only ran it a couple weekends til i got diff parts. i dont really get the hang of driving with one cause you need to change the lines you take. i ran a TA04R all last summer, hit everything there was, and never broke that car.. not once. at that point, i really took to tamiya stuff. ant that 04 has all the same arms and suspension parts as both the evo and 414...

I own the 414M2 myself, and for the entire year that I owned the car, I stripped one front knuckle (from a really bad crash) and bent a couple long hinge-pins (but the kit comes with 4 extra ones) So not bad for a whole years worth of racing. This is still my car of choice for TCS GT-1 class

i just took a good look at the new yokomo. Do you believe it is as tough as a tamiya. Once again i am stuck, evo III or yok. I would like to make my decision based on toughness

well, a lot of guys refer to it as a Brokomo, but i have a Worlds edition and a SP, and never break these either. although... i would have to say that Tamiya gets my vote for the most durable. either evo or 414, i dont think you could go wrong with either...

In my estimation,you and your Brother are on the right track.Tamiya and Xray are the best 2 manufacturers out there as far as many people are concerned. I'm a Tamiya junkie also and can vouch for the 414 being a great car. I don't mean to make your choice harder but...Consider the TA04R. It really is a great chassis. Also there are alot of people who love it and will offer support. Just look at the TA04r thread.....it's huge. Either way you can't go wrong.

is the stripping one-way problem of the evo III, a really big deal. I don't want to buy the car and get pissed of at because it can never finish a race without stripping a gear.
