Speaking to pure performance...

For a single cell WGT car (carpet or asphalt) I use the JR3650. For a heavier 2S battery car, I prefer the extra torque of the KO951.

Both are fast and center beautifully!

Finally got a chance to put my new WGT on the track this weekend. Drove great even with oversized foams. I don't know why this class isn't more popular. This might be my favorite class.

Try running it with 2S and 17.5 and if your a speed demon, go for the 13.5 or 10.5
We run the WGT with 17.5 and 2S in the winter.
In the summer we run the 235MM pan cars with 10.5 and 2S boosted.

If we had nice tracks like yours it would be a viable class. However, here in SoCal we're stuck to just running parking lots which is not so favorable to that because of the lack of traction and poor surface conditions (not smooth enough).

My LHS track is switching from indoor asphalt to carpet. I just picked up a used CRC pan car to help revive WGT. There are at least 3 of us and we will be recruiting

The track is roughly 100x48. The new CRC carpet should be installed within a week or so.

If WGT gets going, I'll come up from time to time.

Hi everyone. (subscribed now) Just geting back to racing adter a year or so, and I am getting one of these cool machines. The carpet track I will be racing at has the 1s 13.5 blinky class. I am used to TC so I am totally confused with what esc to use and if I need a reciever battery pack or not and what is best for performance. I have a Tekins RS pro, but am I understanding it that I need a sepperate reciever battery to run those? I am looking at a: LRP SSX TC-Spec V2. Is this a good esc to use without the need of a reciever pack? And will it be legal to run? Thanks everyone,

The Hobbywing 1S ESC is very good and half the price of the LRP. One of the WGT racers uses it. Now for less than $20 you can get a 220mah LiFe pack for the RS and it will still be smaller and lighter than the LRP and Hobbywing but there is plenty of room on a WGT chassis for the big ESCs. I can get two heats off of one charge of my LiFe and it takes only 10 minutes or less to charge.

If it is an SXX V2 it will work, regardless if it is the TC spec or just the regular one. They are a good speed control, another option is the Hobbywing 120 amp 1s version. They work very well also and use a programming box to set brake, punch ect. The LRP has all these features also you just need to count the blinky lights to determine which setting you are in.

Ultimately it is whatever fits your budget and which set-up method you prefer. Team CRC can set you up with a hobbywing unit. They are about half the price of a new LRP unit.

Any speedo on the ROAR approved list will work fine from a performance standpoint.

I really like the Tekins and since you have one, feel free to go that route. It will need a receiver pack. I use a 180mah 2s lipo wired into the switch.

HW, Viper, Advanced Electronics and LRP all have 1s versions with built in boosters so you wont need a pack. The 1s Viper is really good.
