Oh really? Good. Do you know if Sam can get the organisers to provide details and an invitation letter for my friends from Malaysia so they can clear customs when entering Singapore.

Killjoy.
Usually there wouldnt be any problem if you could prove that the equipment your brining in is "USED".
If the customs official does create problem for you and your friends when coming in, you could always insist on meeting up with the 'boss'.
I have met a few times with the boss and when they see me, they always usher me out from their office. Cos i am just wasting their time. And they will give a good scolding to their subordinates. (I've seen a few times happening in front of me).

But there is always a special case. So, good luck.

One more thing.
If your bringing your equipments from Malaysia into Singapore, you could always declare your car and radio at the Customs office.

From Causeway.
Its the small office with black glass dorr on the left after you have stamp your passport.
Just head into the small office on your left and bring your car and radio to the officer inside it. He knows what to do.

From 2nd Link.
After you have stamp your passport, find a place where you can stop your car without blocking other traffic.
The office is in between the outgoing and incoming traffic. There is an office there in the middle. If you cant find it, approach a Customs Officer and he will gladly point you to the right place.

Newbie question:

Spectators are allowed in there, right? No need to pay?
Allowed to take pictures?
