BEST LIPO CHARGER and LIPO PACKS
I do not know if this has been asked before but i am asking it now. I have no idea what is a good one to get. I will just be sedan club racing. I also would like to know what packs to get. Do not even have a clue what voltage or anything. I have been out of the hobby for over 3 years and I need your help. Thanks!

I've had great luck with the Duratrax ICE charger and with the Team Orion Platinums in my TC4 w/ Novak 4.5 Brushless. Does take long time to charge especially if you run to Li-Po cutoff point. The platinums are awesome. I just got back into RC 6 months ago, after a 5yr absence, and the simplicity, power, easy maintenance and no wierd charging regimes of Li-Po's have me hooked
Another plus is Team Orion replaced a battery for me 1 month after purchase from Tower. It was stuttering with the power, on/off/on/off or something like that. I called them up explaining the power losses and that my other two platinums were not doing it with the same electronics. Sent in and received new pack back, awesome customer service!!!!
Oh hi everyone as this is my first post

The packs are 7.4V…
I think that you will find that Orion/Peak and Maxamps batteries are the most prevalent

As for chargers, there are plenty to choose from...

I personally have two Orion 3200mAh packs and the DuraTrax ICE charger.

That should cover all you speed need.
I would check into the JR Propo radio equipment.

The best LIPO specific charger is the TME Xtrema2. I would recommend the Orion/Peak 3200 or the Trackpower 4900s if you need bigger capacity.

And the more capacity there is per pack the more potential of the pack lasting longer.
Its all in how you use them. I ran 4800's for a year with out balancing, and when I sold them they were as perfect as the day I bought them. The debate will say its the quality and that is true to a degree.
But the way I used mine/ I would charge them run them 5 or 6 minutes then recharge. The trick is to only run very minimal mah out of the pack. Thats the ticket to making them last longer. The deeper the discharge and the more often deeper discharge will shorten the life.
If you run a 4800 5 minutes and you use 30% of the charge it will last so many cycles. We'll say 1000 cycles. But if you use 20% of the charge it will last, lets say 1500 cycles.
Now lets say you run 6000 mah's the same 5 minute run would be 20% we'll say 2000 cycles. And to use 20% would be the same as 10%.
So your cycles will be more at that method.
I hope your following?
Now lets say you were to run both 6000 and 4880 mah's down to the maximum discharge per run or what you may do when running one pack,
The run times will be longer or shorter. But the cycles per pack will be almost the same.
Now thats the way I figured it over a year of running them and I'm sure its close.
Mr. Black team Orion would be able to dial you in more, its very tricky.

The punch is the same. The run time is different.

amount of cells and charging
Thanks for the info on the Lipo and Chargers. I was looking at some of the charges you have listed and it tells you they are for 1 to 5 cells on the Lipo battery. How do you know hom may cells it has or do they even go by cells? Also how do you charge the Lipo packs? Is it by amps or what? Thank you very much for all the info all of you have given me so far.
