Just updated the front end of my Mini-z AWD
Haven't driven it yet, but I have hopes that it smooths out the corners a bit and doesn't jam up as often with RCP dust (our club is just getting started and we're lazy about vacuuming the track).

Rubber tires, but mini-z racers are truing those as well now. The guy who started the club has a the hudy micro truer with bits to true mini-z tires, so we're set on that. Official racing hasn't started yet, we're still gathering people.
Next up, kyosho one way diff up front
Yea, and some air cans, that RCP dust gets everywhere!

OK, MOST / IF NOT ALL OF YOU IN THE MINI THREAD WONT KNOW ME BUT IM HANDICAPT AND I AM A DOUBLE AMPUTEE FROM JUST ABOVE THE ELBOW. I USE A LEFT HANDED DX3R RADIO AND WAS CURIOUS IF THERE WAS ANYWAY TO USE THE DX3R WITH THE MINI Z... I WAS THINKING ABOUT A RCP MINIZ TRACK IN MY BASEMENT WOULD BE PRETTY SWEET

Stuby - since the DX3R does not take a module unfortunately can't be used with mini-Z's. Airtronicss M11s & Futaba 3PK's as far as i know set up as left handed and they do take the module via an adapter and some racers are still using them at highest levels of mini-z competition.
Not sure if any of the KO radios set up as left handed so please do a bit of research (I'm guessing they should be capable of being set up as left handed since they are competition level radios ) if they do, they are the best way to go & again look into used (Helios/Mars or other) and then just add a module.
Everyone who I know that has set up an RCP track at their house has absolutely had a blast running mini-z's

If you really want to seat the brushes, run it in simple green for 20 seconds. A lot of the mini z motors ive seen the brushes arent even close to being seated on the comm, and the simple green does a good job of righting that

KYOSHO FALL CLASSIC RACE: SHORT REPORT

Track Picture = actual race layout. Technical & fun, good job R241 staff.

Track Picture = actual race layout. Technical & fun, good job R241 staff.
Fall Classic being the follow up to the Summer Shootout produced another great gathering of SoCal mini z enthusiasts and amazingly even thought the total number of racers was about the same ,about half were new to the mini-Z scene this time! A good chunk of the regulars could not be there due to schedule conflicts.
Micro-E and Greenpea you guys sure missed a fun day, hopefully next time...these being quarterly trophy races.

Super short highlights:
- Box stock: in A-main 1st place finisher from Summer Shoot out Opi and local track Hot shoe Tsukada locked horns from start to finish in a close battle with Tsukada finishing on top at the end. Myself who finished first in heat 1 and heat 2 faded to a distant third for the first half of the 8 minute A-main due to keeping tire warmers on for too long on the rears, 2nd half when temps had equalized car started working again and finished right behind 2nd place probably only 2 seconds behind...oh yeah, that and a dime will get me half a donut at Winchell's but there is the report
- GT Stock: seriously fast racers Ryan Crabb and Brian Ma battled all the way...at the end Ryan drawing the short straw after a bumpy incident was able to close in but not managing to catch Brian who finished first.
- Kyosho Cup: Tsukada killed it ( i think? need to eat more peanuts for improved memory
)Smashing event...looking forward to Winter version already confirmed & coming soon, stay tuned!
