After the summer season of rc I will no longer be driving my nitro trucks until next year. I was wondering if there are any procedures to preserve the engine so that it doesnt corrode from the nitro. I have run all the gas out of it and put after run oil in it since the last run. Should I disassemble it and clean all the nitro off the piston and sleeve or just leave it as it?

i would clean it all up. I clean the motor really good every year by taking them apart and inspecting everything this way the next year i should not have to worry about a dnf in some race i was in. For the motor i check the bearing and on the piston i clean that off with some steal wool fine kind the number for the wool should be 0000 on it i use that to get the piston to look like new all ove again. then i check the connecting rod. If it all clean and up i spray it all down with nitro clean. I then put it back to together paying carfull attetion to the bearing when i oil the and the connecting rod. Then i oil it once a month and move my fly wheel over a couple of time to keep it lubed up doing storage. I try to keep my car in side this time off year too i dont know how to figure out if the garge is too cold now or not so i play it safe and bring them all inside and piss of the girlfrined lol
