Quick question hope I don't break the rules

Okay so basically I have two nitro truggies and I want to convert one of them to Brushless so that I can race in two classes.
The truggies that I have are a Mugen MBX5T Prospec and a
Hobao Hyper ST Pro. They are pretty much equal in terms of what I will need to convert the two (RC Monster Products) my options are limited due to Tekno discontinuing its kit for my 5T which is what I was originally going to use...
Which of the two is the better choice to convert?
I believe the ST Pro is a bit heavier than the 5T, are the current brushless motor able to provide enough power to move this truggy to say 50-60mph?
Also if you have any suggestion as to what motor/esc combo to use that will be great also. My thought was to go with a Castle Creations Mamba 2200KV/Tekin RX8 combo on a 5S or 6S lipo with at least 4000mah and 35C rating.
Going from nitro to brushless, how does that affect handling?
They both are tanks and durability has not been an issue with either!
Pretty much just give your input and .02cents!
Thanks in advanced everyone!

a 2200 on 5s or 6s should get ya there with either vehicle. why do you want to go 50-60mph tho? if you are racing them, 35-40 is enough. anything higher than that and motor temps and gearing get a little funky for the technical parts of the track.

One that maybe a down fall at first going to electric is you cant adjust brake ballast. So if your brakes are set high and you brake while turning it will push. I set brakes a little light and some times use abs on tx. Its always better to brake on the straights.
as far as motor esc i dont have experience with tekin but the cc2200 is a great setup. Can't go wrong with it.

I run on a pretty open track with long straights not that much of a technical part though I do agree with you though....45mph should be sufficient on any track! Nice to know though you can do it if you wanted too!
How about the handling department, How does switching to brushless affect it?
Which platform in your opinion would you keep nitro and go brushless with?
Thanks Again!

I heard more good things about about the Tekin RX8 and but yet better results using a CC2200KV...I figured why not combine the two!

Yeah, that's what I've heard about the RX8 but yet I've heard better things on the CC2200KV motor over the equivalent Tekin motor!

Go here -> http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/top_speed.html and input the values for different motor/battery combinations to see what will get you 60+ MPH but I have a felling that your going to burn something up if you try and sustain that kind of speed for more than a couple of seconds. I gear my 8e(15/45) for 30ish and my motor/esc (MM,1.5y 1800kv, 4s) never get above 130ish and I can run for 20+ minutes without a problem.

I've heard a big difference is in the initial throttle response/delivery. With nitro you have a clutch that gives the slightest bit of lag/wind up. You do not have that with brushless. You have instant full power. I've heard it is not uncommon for a former nitro driver to miss the timing of jumps and over shoot them or they spin out because where you could hammer the throttle on a nitro, you might have to feather in a brushless car. I have not heard too many people complaining/talking about what handles the corners better, I think they are 6's. You might be able to find a kit to add mechanical brakes so you can still adjust front/rear bias, I'm just not positive for your kit options. Hope that helps. Good luck and happy racing! Oh yeah, you can figure rpm of brushless by multiplying the kv rating with the volts of the battery you are using ie. 2200kv x 18.5v(5s)=40700rpm. 22.2v(6s)=48840rpm

Thanks Everyone...Based off that website's calculations my ST Pro seems to be the likely candidate to convert to brushless....
Of course though I wouldn't run it wide open like that at top speed for more than a few seconds...not enough room too anyway,lol...
Also Looks like I should keep 13,14,15T pinions on hand though to adjust to different conditions.
Using this here http://www.teknorc.com /product_info.php?products_id=964
TeknoRC says I can keep my mechanical brakes, that'll take a little stress off my electronics and I also plan on running a cooling fan also.
I really appreciate everyone's feedback and advice!

Yes cc2200 combo. I am thinking of switching to tekin combo for my buggy. I have no pearsonal experience with any tekin 8th scale products so i don't want to comment. But friends and i had luck with cc esc. My friends was 4 years old i think. There bec is known to be weak though. We never had a problem with hitec7955 servos. No reason not to mix up the cc2200 with tekin rx8.
