Default Spektrum sr300 ISSUES!!

Hey everyone i have just come across some weird issue with my spektrum system. All of it was running fine then after a bit of a stack at the track i lost steering control. Turns out the servo horn got trashed but i replaced the servo thinking it was damaged. The replacement servo im using is a brand new spektrum S6040. After installing the servo and hooking up all the electrics again i cannot bind back to the rx. The lipo pack is fully charged. Im running a MMM esc and 2200kv motor combo which look and run perfectly fine in my e-revo which they came out of. Initially i could bind up ok but when turning the steering servo quickly all the way to the left or right it would twitch at full expo and it lost binding and the green light on the rx would start flashing like it was in bind mode. During all of this the esc would recognise the rx but would continuously flash green at a high rate and i could get no forward or reverse. Now i can no longer even bind to the rx. Are my tx batteries dead? Is the rx stuffed? I read in the instructions that i could be getting reflection from the aluminium tekno chassis in my rc8te and interference is my problem. The rx is mounted directly to the aluminium chassis. Still nutting it out but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your servo is loading the ESC's internal bec, common issue with Castle / Spektrum combos

You need to install a glitch buster style cap or external bec

If you disconnect your servo you should be able to setup / calibrate your ESC to your transmitter

Some Savox servos pull high amps and can brown out a receiver.

The receiver cap is a good answer to keeping a power supply up.

Get a receiver cap for it.
Some servos put alot of hash/noise back into the reciever (poor design)
This causes the receiver to reset/restart.
The receiver cap filters out the noise/hash. This is more of an issue with the cheaper/generic servos.

Have comfirmed this with my o'scope (I had a 3A BEC)
The rx's are good down to approx 3v(from memory) .

If you have a high torque/high current servo it should be powered separately if the esc's BEC cant cope. Get an external 3A or 5A BEC for it.

The cap does not filter noise, it simply assists in holding the voltage up while the internal bec is loaded

Holding the voltage up stops the receiver from browning out

Besides the fact the specs are pretty weak for a RC8T, even Spektrum does not recommend it for a 1/8th scale off road application.

I'm aware that the servo is not recommended but i had it lying around and decided to use it and see. When the cash flows in ill be upgrading to a hitec 7985mg i think. Any suggestions???

Hello guys, just want to share my experience with my set up rc8 e, MMM, CC 2650kv, savox 1256TG, Spektrum DX3S, SR300. When I turn the steering really quick or go full throttle all of the sudden the RX light with off for a while and back on real quick, but during it's off I lost control over the car. I tried to do all I can to remove the glitching but I failed, even by setting the CC internal BEC to 7 volt won't help. But when I changed my servo to HPI SF-50 the glitching was gone so I know the problem was with the savox servo.

Finally what I did was to change SR300 with telemetry RX SR3300T which came with DX3S and It works, even though the light from the RX will blink if I turn the steering really quick but I won't lose control. So that's it, some Spektrum RX can handle high voltage servo but some won't

I had the same experience. I won't run SAVOX or Spektrum gear as a result. Some people have issues, others don't. Bottom line, my time isn't worth the gamble on their products. Since running Hitec and Futaba, ZERO issues. Any other name brand should be the same Airtronics, KoPropo, etc.
