does ANYONE have any feedback on this motor yet? I am on the fence with this and the b6 pro, it's been out for a while now and still no feedback?

Anyone?

Default I have question about gritty bearings and old Ninja bo1a jx.21.

I just broke down my 8b 2.0 and noticed my jx.21 is gritty when I spin the flywheel with plug out but only in one spot. It still spins pretty smooth but hear a little grit when I hold it to my ear so can I get some more races out of it or should take it out now and have rebuilt or keep it as backup it has about 6-7 gallons on it. I have a new Losi/Nova R21 Nitrotec but I can only get Odonnell Speed Blend 30% and friends say I should wait until I can get some Byrons 30%/11% for R21 break-in but I would really like to go ahead and use Odonnell because it's easy for me to get at LHS. What would you guys do? I have big race in two weeks and I doubt I can get fuel and broke-in unless I just use the ODSPBlend or just keep running jx.21. Thanks for any info/help!

Sounds like you need a bearing or two. If you are not able to take apart and replace bearings I would send it to RCRenew.com and have them look it over for you. They are super fast with great service.

I add Byrons Lube booster to my OD fuel for breakin.

Default Yeah thanks for info!

l looked at the rcrenew site and seems like the way to go but I wonder if I have waited to long for pinch/bearings without replacing rod or crank. But I am ordering Lube Booster as soon as I have decided if I need anything else I just got a ton of stuff yesterday including the new R21 so I wish I had took time to ask before. Its not real easy to pull bearings out of old motor is it I have replaced some Traxxas 3.3 bearings before but never a older big block. Thanks!

RCRenew will inspect it, measure the specs and let you know what it needs, then you can decide to fix it or not. They do a great job, it will be as good as new or better. The bearings are not hard to replace, if you know what you're doing.

this is a sick motor..however, the older 5 port has a better carb...to make the new 3 port ninja a true winner, i suggest the new ebmod power backplate available for the new longstroke os motors...better tunability, better runtime, and considerably more smoother power from bottom to top...ive seen them on ebay for around $75 and if u call ed at ebmods he can hook you up too...he's imo the best engine guy around and he'll also be the first one to tell u that the short stroke os and ninjas are a more desirable motor...ive been snatching up all the 5 port ninjas i can get my hands on recently as its by far my favorite motor ever after being massaged by ed himself!!

Can anyone tell me if the new bo2 piston/sleeve and rod will work with the bo1a case and crank?

So the new ninja is a short stroke thought it was a long stroke with 3 ports.

Tim, how are you mate?
The new Ninja has a smaller diameter piston/liner (due to the longer stroke) than the old one. The new crank has a longer throw (to acheive the longer stroke) than the old one, so in short, no they are not interchangeable.

It might be interesting if the OD of the new liner is the same as the old one, you could put the items you mentioned together, and it might be a Ninja .19 ??

I have tested both engines. The new B02 ninja is designed for better runtime, at the expense of some power. The new ninja is a great buggy engine, and should get 10 minutes runtime for most people in buggy. The B01 was smoother with more rpm, and peak power. The B02 has a little more snap down low, with less rpm.

What pipe are you using on the B02?
