Default Short Course + Buggy Electronics Questions

I'm hoping to get team associated factory team short course and buggy kits.

I would like to share the electronics for both just to save money(So I will only race one of them at a time)

I would like the motor to be 13.5. What would 13.5 kv rating be? Is a higher KV faster and lower KV slower? The brushless motor stats still confuse me.

What's a good brand of motor/esc system that would work great in both a buggy and a short course truck ?Or do they usually require different specs?

I would like to get the motor and ESC as a "system" so it comes with the ESC.

Now for the steering servo.

I had a thread about good and cheap steering servos and got a lot of replies the $70(US) Savox servos are good.
Is this a good steering servo for both buggy and short course?

Any suggestions or advice on what motor/esc combo and sterring servo are very appreciated.
Thanks

i would get a 10.5 motor, that has plenty of speed for both the vehicle you are interested in!! as far as servo the 1251 (I think that is the one) from savox is good but often needs a bec or cap connected to the receiver as it take lots and lots of juice to run it!!

As much as I really want a faster motor, I don't think my track would let me race it in the 13.5 classes.. A 10.5 would be a lot of fun though. And will look up the 1251.

I was looking through the servos on Amain and I noticed there's either high speed or high torque. What is better for off-road?
