Default Big Bore B4.1?

Looks like the previous big bore convesation died in this thread, so I will revive it. Considering purchasing TQ racing big bores. Has one tried to bolt them on, or any other big bore?

I haven't heard any whisperings from my AE contacts of big bores being releaseed anytime soon (or ever)....

Look back a few pages, I did a write up with pictures on running 22 shocks on the b4. (page 238)

I too have been looking pretty hard at them. The 22 springs will fit them so there is plenty choices there. On the same token though I would rather have A/E or a Yokomo shock set with bleeder caps. The other concern I had with the TQ is piston options.

Front Arms...and maybe steering blocks. The only part iv ever broken, is a front arm. (well.. and a chassis, but that's a different story)

You can run lipo... but i doubt the ESC in that model has a low voltage cut off. You would need to pull the car off the track before it got below 3.2v per cell. Go lower and you risk damaging the battery, of even sending the entire car up in flames.

I highly recommend investing in a brushless setup with lipo LVC, and a lipo battery. ESPECIALLY if you plan on racing.

For right now would that batt be alright for getting the feel of the track? I'm kinda short on funds for the brushless system right now...

I carry a lot of spares but have only broken a front arm and steering rack. I also keep the shock rebuild kit and extra ball cups on hand for routine maintenance.

Have you tried a matched (frequency) set of stiffer springs all the way around? I suppose you could try dropping the oil weight a touch. There's a tough step up after a hair pin that I always struggled with. Watching most of the local fast drivers, they were all sliding wide in the hair pin to run up a bit more speed.
