Servo noise
#1
Is the sound that my Savox servos are making normal?
Just installing them into my buggy, but unsure if I have something wrong, which is causing them to make this sound. Its only the steering servo that makes this noise in the netural centered position, throttle servo seems to sit nicely and quietly.

Mine does the same thing in my Blitz, I think it's a Savox thing.
You can tell the trucks with Savox servos at my track because you can hear them humming while we're waiting at the line to start the race.
I think that it's the servo constantly trying to stay centered (since it's a digital servo), so it's always making adjustments that cause it to hum like it does.

Yes, digital servos usually hum at center in a constant effort to maintain position. Just the friction of the tires on the race surface at start, or the little friction in your steering linkage causes enough resistance for the servo to sense the need to correct. Once running on the track it goes away. You can minimize it by freeing up your linkages, but it isn't a major issue unless you leave it sitting like that for a LONG time. That might cause heat build-up in the motor and some damage to the servo. Normal everyday use won't be a problem at all. I have yet to find a digital servo brand that doesn't buzz to some extent.
