I ran mine on a large 1/8th scale track (200' straight). With a 4.5 550 13t pinion it is really fast and after a 6 minute main the motor temp was not a problem. If I remember correctly after the 6 minute main the motor temp was 115. I might try a 14t pinion next.

I also had to change a servo and it was not that big of a deal. My fault on the servo failure.

All I got to say is don't buy it if ya don't know how to tune it. And if you think by changing name brands is gonna help overlook anyone's lack of tuning skills then you in for a rude awakening. Get over it. Learn how to tune or ask someone to help you. I run on an 1/8 scale track. Front stretch is 170 feet long and I have no motor or gearing problems. It's called trial and error. Associated nor anyone on this site can promise you a good gear ratio. All tracks very. You have to start somewhere and figure it out.

Wasn't this a sticky earlier today? But at least it's a losi now....um I mean it says Guide like the 22 now. There's lots of good info here, so after you read the guide read the 60+ pages here to get updated.

I'm sure quality control suffered by the amount of units they had to produce and get out the door.

just about every truck/car etc has its issues.

too bad we can't mfr them here in the USA.
There really is little justification for not manufacturing in the US for these types of products. These are manufactured normally with little labour anyway. You definitely would have much less QA issues if the plant was around the corner from the designer. There was a great article in WIRED about this an issue our two ago.
I was disappointed to see Associated farming this out...when I was into racing 15-20 years ago it was manufactured in the US.

Allkits get stamped out overseas now. Losi parts have made in china on them. It's all about the lowest bidder. If it was truly made in America it would cost a out 500 bucks.

It doesn't have to be that way.
I"m in manufacturing and for the low volume that these companies produce, there is not the savings you would think there would be.
I'd personally pay 25% more for it to be made in North America(I'm in Canada).

Tried that but, there is a little small breather hole just under the bleed screw. It would suck air and leak with every stroke. I had to rebuild them with the bladder. I don't know if it's just mine like that(all 4) or all new kits. Hmm...video shows them being built without bladder.
You sure you don't have a double seal in one? This would cause the shock cap to tighten before threading in far enough to close off that hole.

I'm getting ready to throw my sc10 4x4 as hard as I can to the wall!! (Nah I really wouldn't do that)..... Basically I am going to tear it almost completely down and re-do alot of things after reading alot of these posts etc......

I have it completely finished and installed my 1410 castle 3800kv motor and mamba pro esc, I have it geared and 19/23 and I don't know what I did wrong but the belt seems way to freaking tight and doesn't seem to have any speed at all low or high etc etc....... I have my rear belt tensioner set to the middle and I adjusted my front to the lowest setting to try and free up the belt more since it seems to damn tight, but still didn't fix anything....... So I'm going to tear it all down and recheck everything etc etc........ Any tips, info., help would be greatly appreciated.....

I still love AE but damn this has been one build I wish went alot smoother.....

On the belt tension screw up is less down is more. I am running two down from the top on the front and rear. Take the belt off and see if the transmissions spin free.

If you haven't opened it or run it yet, that's the time to sell if its inevitable... but I'd hold out for a few weeks at least and give it a shot.

There's no way this will ever be as easy to work on as the Losi, although I'll try to find any shortcuts I can. Gearing/heat issues aren't going to get better with a heavier truck.

Anyways if you rebuild all the poorly assembled components (diffs, shocks) in the box, you shouldn't have an issue with stuff falling off the truck.

There's lots of good info in every vehicle thread on here, and we can't have every regular thread as a sticky. Same thing with the 22 guide, there is plenty of good info in the entire thread, but the guide sums it up. If Craig keeps the SC10 4x4 updated, it should save new guys a lot of time and should sum up the 60+ pages of info on here.
