Ahh, I see. Didn't realize it was still that much preload needed. Makes ya wonder, why not make a longer brown spring?

Anyone know what they are using to offset the motor to the right here?

Looks like 2 of the 2mm countersunk blue washers used on the front brace in 4.1 kts

When doing this mod the important part is what you put in between the top shaft bearing and slipper hub... I use the inner race of a wheel bearing... not sure what Cav's using there... maybe a 2mm metric ballstud washer?

Also I had to use the old style slipper spring with 1 coil ground off..

The point of off-setting the motor is weight balance, correct?Or is there another reason?

Yep... trying to center the rotor to the center line of the chassis

You will need to use different length screws and I used the older thinner motor plate with my shim/ screw setup

The Orion motors have a tendency to be off balance when compared to the LRP X-12. I think this was one of the issues being addressed with the new Orion motors yet to be released. He was using spacers and the thinner non-milled motor plate.

This is a pic of his car at the recent EOS race in Europe. He is not using the offset mount, because of the new motors.

Are those the Yokomo rear hubs?

Probably a noob question, but what's with the arrows on the inside of the rims? Does the directionality matter?

Those are AE hubs with the C braces.

some tires direction matters, but more important he wants to put the left tire back on the left side... the arrows act like a LR or Left would do on the inside of the rim
If you were to flip that tire to the other side then it points the wrong way meaning the tire is on the wrong side. If you change Left to Right it can make the tire act different based on how it has worn

in the picture of the offset motor, he is using Yokomo hubs. The picture from EOS, he is using the new C tower for the FT rear hubs.

If I put the Pro-Line front & rear hexes for the sc10 on my b4 & I use Kyosho wheels? Will the car still be legal width?

It will be illegal and men in black suits from ROAR will drag you out of bed and beat you. Actually I don't know the answer to that question....
