Anyone know if there are any cases that fit it?

I have the Team Grid drop down on my DX3R. It still fits in the Spektrum case but its a little tight. I didn't cut any of the foam away, I didn't feel that the case being tight is effecting the radio negatively.

I have not seen the team grid dropdown in person. I am pretty sure it is metal though so I was thinking it mite be a little sturdier than the plastic.

Yes, your right. The Team Grid drop down is metal. It's billet aluminum.

The venom case will not fit the DX3R pro.

Aluminum should be stronger than plastic, but there are two other things to consider.

1st: The aluminum drop down still has to attach to plastic. If you put enough pressure on the radio, something has to break.

2nd: One great feature of the DX3r series radios is the light weight. Aluminum weighs more than plastic.

The Spektrum hard case works great for me. You just have to cut out a little of the top foam around the wheel.

Glad this thread is around. Almost bought the venom case for my pro with drop down tonight. If you read the fine print it says it isn't compatible. It's a cool case too. Oh well...
