The low self discharge type rechargeable NiMhs are 2300 and will simply amaze you if you haven't tried them yet. They'd be a lot cheaper and keep the weight down and actually have more capacity that that life which is prob going to require a 20cycle break in which will limit its discharge for the break in period.
HobbyKing Turnigy AA LSDs and Sanyo's Eneloops are both the lsd types and I've been amazed by the way either perform in my electronics.
I am using both and they are great in a TX either as single cells or an assembled pack - using 8 Eneloop cells as a pack in my 7C TX.
