Try takeOffs if you want, but be aware that their side walls split far to easily with standard diameter sized wheels.
Only use Take Offs with the wheel mentioned below and a insert that fills the tyre.
After many tries I have found this combination best for UK racing:
ING wheels - T24MMS
Echo inserts - J4430M
ING MS Tyres - 32 for most tracks
I recently ran Sorex 28/32/36 tyres on the mentioned wheel/insert and found the 36 had little grip and 28 got too hot.
32 failed badly at Snetterton but worked a treat at Aldershot, but was a second a lap slower than ING tyres.
ps. remember to drill at least 2 5mm holes in the wheels before fitting tyre (i run 3 4mm holes).

Why is that people go back to rubber tire racing while you have higher speed with foam tire? I am confused. Can someone tell me more about the advantage of using rubber tire instead of foam tire?
Thank you.

Thank you.

Please don't start the rubber V foam debate again guys.
You run with whatever is being used at your local track if you intend racing.

Start a post on the rubber tyre debate again and somebody will point you in the right direction.
I will need to have a rubber setup for the FW05 to run in the BRCA rubber races in the UK.
Its marginally cheaper to run rubber tyres in the Uk due to the cost of foams.
Do people run a solid front axle when runnng rubber tyres?
What about harder compound at the back?
Cheers

The UK has 2 Championships, here are tha basic rules.
1: IC Scale Rubber -
3-ports .12 motors, GT/Touring Shells, 16% nitro, Moulded Rubber Tyres.
2: IC Scale Foam -
Any .12 motor, Any full width shell, 25% fuel, foam tyres only.
Most who do the Rubber series who refuse to do the Foam series are not against the Foam tyres, the are objecting to the high downforce Lola type shells you have to use to be competitive. If it weren't for the shell I would be on Foam

I have also tried rubber on my car. I have to admit depending on the type of track surface I found rubber to work better sometimes. I prefer foam when our local track has traction. On dusty low bite surface I found that HPI has a treaded tire that is really soft. I believe it is there pro compund. The tire has show me it can not only hook up, but it will last as well. I am also using HPI blue inserts on Yokomo BBS type wheel. M2C.

The discussion got heated last October, and lasted over 2 hours with no result, so thing were left for another year.
Rubber Series Rnd 1 - 80 entries, Rnd 2 - 86 entries.
Foam Series Rnd 1 - 70 in 200, 30 in 235.
Less than 10 drivers race in both series.

Thats why everybody runs the lola shell. But if you WANT to run the touring shell I dont think there is anything in the rules stopping you

There is nothing in the rules to stop you using a touring shell but I've seen some huge shunts where a tourer backs off for a corner but the Lola goes flat.
You then have to work out which piece goes with which car.
Until they change the rules, I will stay with Rubber, even though I'm a good lap or 2 faster on Foams.
