It's absolutely fine to run them like that. Remember a battery always stores more voltage than it's listed (nominal) voltage, 7.4V packs are 8.4V when fully charged.
I run 2 RSX Response servos with direct LiPo power, no problems at all.

The RSx servos are built to operate with Lipo direct. That is why the specs are listed for both 6V and 7.4V. Tebo and King run them Lipo direct without a regulator.

Yep they work with lipo direct. If your RX is also lipo compatible then it's easy to wire just run everything in the car straight off the 2s lipo. If the RX is not lipo compatible I believe you just run the positive from the 2s lipo direct to the servo and run the RX off the BEC. but you should verify this with the mfg.
Did anyone else see that new low profile Rsx on rcinsider.com? Best specs I've seen for a lo-pro.

I have been using the rsx servos since they were released late 2010 without any servo related issues. I recently sent one in that I pinched the wire for service and they charged me $40 to make it brand new with a new lead, gearset and sticker (I asked for the sticker). I have not had a servo fail yet and they are in all my cars.

For Nitro you will need to make sure that your receiver and other equipment can handle Lipo direct. To make this connection, just plug your Rx battery (Lipo) directly into the receiver. You will have to keep an eye on the battery as you don't want to over-discharge the pack or
.
For electric you can use 7.4V Adjuster Connector that we just released for 2S Lipo here. Just click on the additional image to see an example of the setup.
