Default HELP PLEASE

I’m an infant with these nitro trucks fell in love as soon as i herd my friend’s revo 3.3 shift. i just bought a used team ass. mgt 8.0 with an axial .28 rr motor in it. Love it lots of fun no problems except I want to change the shift point because it shifts really quickly in 1st gear and want to wind it out to maximum mph in parking lots ext. I know there is supposed to be 2 screws a silver and a black one my question is how to i reach the right one without taking everything apart.

I am trying to learn to do things the right way so before i do this I could use all the advice I can get from some of you veterans

Thanks nick

First thing I'd do is download the PDF of the owners manual. That will help explain things a bit better. You'll find out EXACTLY how to do it via manual.

Nick. There is a cover over the tranny gears. Look in as the gears spin. turn the screw one way it shifts later, the other way, sooner. I just forget which is which.'
Download the manual is a good idea as stated above.

its the 2nd set screw you see that adjusts the shift point. they are very tempermental so make small adjustments 1/8 turn at a time. I would turn it all the way clockwise, counting your turns of course so you know where it is now, then take it out and give it a drop of locktite, they tend to back out eventually. good luck. And I wouldnt recommend winding it all the way out, you want the truck to shift at the top of the engines powerband, when it shifts into 2nd you should see a burst of speed as it shifts
