Need to settle this truggy thing.
Ive read both losi and ae threads and im still at a lost. I'm 90% sure i want a roller or kit since most rtr are plain. I'm just not sure what is the lesser of the 2 evils as far as upkeep, cost of parts, after market support, durability, forgivness of crashing and newbie driving mistakes, overall balance. Leaning towards AE but IDK. Help a fellow rookie out.
Thanx

honestly man, you cant go wrong with either. Does your local shop stock parts for both? If they've got one over the other, that would be the deciding factor for me. Have you been able to drive either manufacturers' truggies?

IMO the Losi truck is the easiest truck to drive and it's tough as nails. I drove Losi trucks for 3 yrs and they are great trucks. All roller parts fit the rtr but there are many issues that will arise with the Losi rtr quickly. It all boils down to how serious you are about racing for rtr or roller. I recently started driving a Mugen truck 6t and I love it. But the Losi is definatly tougher. Plus the support that will be at the track is greatly increased for the Losi everyone has one and is usually more than willing to help. You just can't go wrong with the losi.

Great job answering the guy.
I run the Losi, as i switched to it from the AE in late 2009. I felt the Losi jumped flatter and longer, and had a bit better acceleration. The AE RC8T CE truggy is dialed, requiring few upgrades to be a contender. The Losi on the other hand, does require buying the AL servo Saver and AL rear diff bearing inserts. Everything else is good stock.

Each one will have there pros and cons. Flip a coin and get one. You will not know if u like it until u get it.

Though, the Losi truggy definitely does go through more bearings then the AE truggy. That without a doubt is a fact.

You can't go wrong either way, I have an AE and love it but I'm not going to tell you to get one. You need to decide yourself, dont rely on someone elses opinion. Too many people think brand X is great and brand Y is junk. Look closely at both and which one do you like best, I personally did not care about who ran what at the local track and local support but you may so look into that. Its your decision, don't let someone else make it for you.
