gota think about how slow its gona be.
it might run 2 hours, but it also might take 2 hours to go 5 miles.
all depends on what kinda speed your gona be running.
id maybe look into a 2wd slash, with a stock/spec brushless, and get the biggest lipo you can find.
i know theres bigger than 5000mah lipos out there. or just have a couple 5000's extra with you.
on my scx10 with vxl brushless, i could get 45-50 mins on a 3200 mah lipo, but thats actually trail crawling. not very much wide open throttle.

I had thaught about the 2wd slash, I will be going about 5-6mph but the distance we untend to go is 17 miles. I might look at using my sc10 but parhaps the slash would be a better option, I also thaught about a stampede or mini slash, what would the run time be on one of these?

2wd stampede would be the same as a slash, as long as its a vxl. the minis would prolly be less, because you cant fit the huge batterys in it.
the crawler would work for that speed, but your be close to if not wide open the whole time.
a slash at 5-6 mph would prolly make it on 2 batts.

My Axial SCX10 has a 40 T eagle racing brushed motor connected to a Mamba max ESC using a 213% drag brake.
An hour of driving in rough terrain and lots of climbing will see 1000mah withdrawn from the 2S 4000mah 20c Lipo.
Turning the drag brake down to 50% gives a modest improvement of around 10-15%.
cheers.
