Default Lipo Cells

Hi all,

After a number of years out of racing I have finally got back into it again, im running a Mardave V12 Hotrod, the battery im using at the moment is a FlightPower Lipo 7.4v.

Anyone got any recommendations as I will need to purchase some batteries soon and as Ive been out the hobby for so long things have changed.

Any Suggestions???

HobbyKing lipos have gotten pretty good, especially for the price. I'd give them a look before deciding, they are a significantly cheaper option than the FPs.

Click on lipo on teh menu on the left.

I would also like to add that http://www.hobbypartz.com/ is also a good place to get lipo's from. The "blue lipo's" perform well. The new sky lipo are supposed to be alittle better. The Gens ace are great lipo but hard to catch in stock.

When you say hobyking lipos, which lipos exactly do you mean on their site? The zippy ones? I'm looking for a few packs to start racing SCT.

I have had great experiences with both Zippy and Turnigy lipos. I run the hardcase packs. As a note, they are not ROAR-approved, but for many people that doesn't matter. Check with tracks and LHS in your area to see if you need ROAR-approved packs.

If you do need ROAR-approved hardcase packs I would look at ProTek (A-main Hobbies in-house brand) they are pretty cheap too, and I wouldn't be surprised if the lipo cells are the same as Zippy and Turnigy.

Thanks. I have a feeling roar approved is going to be a requirement...

I posted to hobbypartz to see if they know when they expect more stock of 4000mah or 5000mah hard case roar approved 2 cells.

If its going to be a while, I may just start with a amain pack that is roar approved.

Any advise on a good charger that wont break my bank but will last me a while and keep my packs taken care of?

Which are really great performances.
I hear they are great. I just have to keep checking every day to try and find one available to buy
