I have a question, When you see engine specs and they claim 2.2,2.4,2.7 Horse power what are they referring to? Its obviously not realistic claims considering what the dyno says..I saw an ad for some new engine that had a HP rating of 2.8..how do they get away with this?

because there is no real enforced standard for measuring the HP on these engines...manufacturers pretty much pull a number out of the air and print it on the box... I have seen some claim over 4 HP on the box LOL !
