Default XRAY XII Setups & Discussions

Thought there should be a thread on here for us 1/12 scale drivers.

Personally I have found that the Xray improved not only my lap times but consistancy as well.
I am sure there are quite a few XII T-bar and the newer link cars out there getting the same results.

The X11 is really impressing even in the colder weather lately.
Windsor
10.5bl 3.7v lipo
High grip
35sh f/r
Hard front springs
Pink HPI rear spring
SMA
4.5bl 3.7v lipo
Lowish to Med grip(outdoor, cold)
32sh fr 30sh rr
Kit front springs
Pink HPI rear spring

The car seems to work well high or low grip. One thing worth noting is there is NEVER no rear grip

Has anyone sourced any heavier rear spring than the Cup Racer pink. I dont want to change centre shock to suit available springs.
Ari
Is it possible for you to ask the people in Slovakia if there will be a heavier rear spring available. Thought the request may carry a bit more weight coming from a distributor.

I dont like your chances Badman.
The postest that i have read on the XRAY fourm by mr HUDY the xii and x10 are just products they produce to fill a gap in there product range and there is not the market demand to justify the r&d budget it would take produce a line of option parts
They werent even going post a editable pdf set up sheet for the x10 i no this is the xii thread but both cars share 98% of the same parts so i am only to assume that XRAYS attitiude to the xii is similar to the x10 go and check out the x10 thread on the XRAY forum its eye opening
I think your best bet is to change your center shock there is a mod that people are doing to x10s using a hpi F1 shock witch i cant see why it would not work on the xii ill tell ya about it when i talk to you
My I.E.D X12 IS AWESOME i took it the windsor out of the box and ran the boards with it did not brake a thing another TONKA TUFF XRAY TOY

Xray XII link takes 2nd Ari Bakla, 1st outing with the car, and me taking 5th in 1/12 scale at the NSW State Titles 2010 at SMA in what would almost be the Nationals field in Bendigo in November.

What a weekend hey : ) Thanks for your help Badman, the XII was aweesome until i smashed you in the second final... car still had a huge tweak in the 3rd final

Car was out of the box with JACO Pink Rear and Purple Fronts. Small Rears and even smaller fronts were the trick, the front were best when they were nearly on the rims. Smaller tyres gave less grip but awesome corner speed.

Kit setup with Hardest front springs. I will post a setup when i get a minute.

Default DIFF FAIL

Has any one had problems with the center screw in the rear axel tearing out when you try and gently tighten the diff

Hey Man
I have had 1 rear axle fail in my XII.
If you have a really good look at the graphite between the inner diff plate and the the end where the tensioning screw is you probably find it is cracked.
Mine was caused by a monumental off which I thought broke nothing.
The XII is really tuff the only weak point I have found is steering knuckes cracking through to the king pin hole.
