Yeah I hear ya, but all of the national races are running 17.5 no timing. And no way I can drive open mod at these events. It's so dumb but what do you do? Looks like it just became a "motor war again".

I have a Crc Carpet Knife and at my local track going into the sweeper out of the strait-way the front end wants to hop. I am trying to figure out if its the track or my car, What do you think? What else could i try?

Here is what I hope will be a good newbie (1/12 scale anyway) question.

I"m running a Protoform AMR12 lid on a 12r5.1, running a Cirtix 17.5 combo (with gearing that looks like it belongs on a bicycle...normal, I know) in a no boost/timing/turbo class.

Could this lid be supplying enough downforce as to slow the silly thing down? I"m running out of the box tires, geared 60/72, so I can't go much larger or smaller on either. I"m as quick or quicker on the infield sections, but loose time on the open areas. This is an outdoor track on bumpy, sugared asphalt. Settled on Purple/pinks yesterday and the car now feels really settled.

But short of dropping a Novak Ballistic in the thing, can this lid be too "slow" for my power(less) condition?

I've been told that the AMR is for Mod use but for the 13.5 no boost class that I run, its been very good. I prefer it over my Speed 8HD.

I thought it would be as well...but after running it at the IIC I'm pretty happy with the speed. Yes it is a bit slower but it is much more controllable and the racing is real close.

Looks very interesting. I really like how they have gone to bullet connectors on the motor...even less reason to bring the soldering iron to the track

Just getting back into 12 th scale. How much steering throw would be average. I was thinking a 6 foot circle or is there another way to do it.

I run around 70% of the maximum travel. It varies a little with grip levels but it is about that when the car is good.
