If you are using a 3.7V LiPo, you need a receiver pack or booster to supply 6V to the receiver, servo and transponder (if you are using one).
It is fairly new but I wounder how long it will take for others to do the same?

The Havoc 1s has been doing it for about a year now. Which REALLY disappointed me when the Kinetic didn't have the same feature. No excuse for that really. Unlike the Tekin, etc, it didn't come out until 1s racing for pan cars was the norm, and it ain't like the Kinetic is small or anything...

LRP SXXv2 supports 1s operation WITHOUT booster or receiver pack. 3 of my friends are using it already. The esc is very competitive.
I am currently using and dont need a receiver pack

Its funny that alot of.you guys keep saying that. Here in Oz almost every 12th is running something else to avoid the problems they were having with the Tekin. Currently BD's and SXX rule and the new hobbywing is growing in popularity as well. Its not that any of them are proven to be faster its more that the difference is not worth talking about but the Tekin has the most problems. If you want to go by performance then here in Oz the BD has destroyed everything and tekin is lucky to make an A final.
I think that is more driver quality as oppossed to the BD smashing the opposition.
Most LRP drivers in OZ have spent a fortune getting to the point of being fast without a receiver pack.
And what was bradd using the other week (i thought i heard it was a hobbywing) when he set the lap record. Thats the first meet i seem to recall him running 12th scale at since Nationals 2008.

And he also did Nationals last year in 1/12.
