Will RC Performance Indoor Dirt kill MARCCA?

Are these people total dolts? It can't possibly cost very much to use the space at the park and it is money in the pocket of the club for little effort, not to mention the good will of the on road community who is presently helping to fund the rent so that the off roaders can have their fun. And then to be vindictive on top of it? these people lack sence, discernment, and any other moral character.
Firerider,
I personally think that you ought to be banned for the explitive you opened your last post with.

I would guess that RC performance would like nothing better than for MARCCA to get its poop in a group and function well as a club. running a track for a business is an expensive proposition and a management headache. But, RC performance is wholly committed to RC and a good share of that is the madison racing community. If they are not well served the bottom line at the hobby shop suffers. They just can't afford not to make sure that their customers are well served. I just hope that they remember the ON Road people as well.

Neil: My original plan was to ante up for the AMB system myself, and last summer I already purchased the billy goat blower out of my own pocket. I have computers coming out the wazoo and I can work out a deal with Doug Hay for the best software out there.
I am willing to do all of this because I want to see racing in Madison. I thought I had proved that last year but sacrificing my entire summer of racing to run the show in Verona. And yet, boneheads like Fire Rider come on here and accuse me of undermining the club (still waiting to hear how I did that) and destroying racing. It makes no sense.
Last year, I took a lot of heat because sedan racing only broke even for the summer. So I figured if I pick up the cost this year, that would just make those people happy.
But, I was wrong.
I figured that there was no way the club would rather destroy the drivers' stand than to let us use it, especially if we continued to offer the discount.
But, once again, I was wrong.
There are people, and one person specifically, on the board who think of the club as their own. They do not represent the interest of the club, they represent themselves. They vote based on their dislike of sedan racing and the idea that if things don't go their way, then they don't want things going anywhere.
If MARCCA was a stronger club with better guidance, R/C Performance wouldn't be trying to build a track, because MARCCA's would be better. But take a look at the club some time, a hard look, and you'll see how far it has fallen in the past 3 years. RCP is building a track because the opportunity is there, and the opportunity is there because the club is making poor decisions.

Also, as Racin Rev pointed out, the existence of MARCCA is a good thing for R/C Performance, it helps them sell kits and parts. If MARCCA were to go away, they would lose a solid chunk of business.
If the club can get its act together, it could still thrive, even with a dirt track in town. Nothing is preventing that. We've already proven you can draw 40-50 people on a Sunday race and you could still get some for carpet trucks (perhaps). But it needs to be run smartly, not the way it has been run in the past. We got partway there with an intelligent and thoughtful president, but then the sore losers figured out a way to get themselves back on the board -- by kicking me out on a popularity vote. They undermined a majority vote of the club members and no one even cared.

SteveA, wish I could have raced more with you this year, we had some really good battles in Pro Stock last year. Unfortunately I don't really feel welcome on truck nights at MARCCA any more and I can't make Trackside very often. Good to hear you're getting out there, you were already getting a lot better last year.

Steve for one i didnt run a carpet setup. i changed everything including buying a compleat set of tires. i had one hell of a fast truck but couldnt get it to handle at all or i would have done alot better.
that reminds me. anybody need a set of tires for trackside they only have 3 runs on them. $30 I sure aint gonna use them again. gas is getting to expensive to go to trackside and i have 2 jobs now just to pay for gas for everyone in the family + insurance and payments on the car. because my dads job is barly paying the bills.
As for the drivers stand situation at the onroad track, ive never been there. if they gonna tear one down it should be the one in Cottage Grove or move it to the onroad track, because before the off road program was kicked out of there it had just been repared and repainted. so it was in like brand new condidtion.and from what i can see now when i drive past it it is covered in weeds and needs a coat of paint, the MARCCA sign is still attached to it, also brand new before being kicked out by Cottage Grove.
I wouldn't mind running outdoor sedan but the way it looks now i wont be racing at all this summer, off road or on, and i probably wont be racing untill the cccc and after that it wouldn't be it till next winter. so i may have a nitro truck for sale also in about a month or two. If anyone interested.
outher than that i realy think that if RCP gets their dirt track marcca would most likely die. and alot of ppl would probly never come back. Unlike Steve, the only reason that i can reason (along with a few other ppl i have herd say this too) that he goes to trackside is because he can win down there. i say this because almost every time i see you race up here your always gettin P.O.ed at one thing or another. I find that all of the ppl i know that are only childs have this kind of attitude towared things.and i know quite a few.
and as for my erlier post sry for the cussing. its just stuff can rile me easly, even though i dont look like it does.thats just how i am.
so in the words of cartman from south park: I'm going home.

Yeah, great idea. Let's tear down a brand new driver's stand at the onroad track, and move the stand from cottage grove to the onroad track!! ( SARCASM )
Ok, maybe that would make sence to some crack junkie, but not to me!

I would also like to add that when Shane ran the sedan events over the summer, they were also first rate. Between Bob's layouts, and Shane's race direction, it proved to be a killer combination. It's too bad our buddies back at the board had to kill that. I really thought that last summer's sedan was going to be a turning point for the marcca sedans. Sure, we may not have had the greatest turn out for some of the races, but you can't build Rome in one day. I know several people at Trackside that would be willing to give MARCCA a try at Verona should the program have been as classy as it was last summer.

fire..you make your own point..they left a brand new sign at a track they were leaving...the stand there is junk....it has been around in some configureation for many years and needs to be torn down......now after sitting for 2 years with no maintenance, i am suprised dom has not buldozed it.....it is a inurance problem for him.....also, you say steve only goes to trackside to win.....what are you on????? the cometition at trackside is head and shoulders over marcca.....he is going there for the competition and the dirt......i do not know steve, but i doubt he is going there cause it is easyer.....

I dont just go to trackside to win, if i wanted to win every week i would race MARCCA like last year. I was sick of all the shit that went on at marcca, plus if i wanted to go to any big races i really wouldnt be that good, come on who else in this country races on carpet? Aaron (firerider) if you would have seen me when i first wwent down there this year i didnt do any good. i had to practice to get better. It aint like this carpet were you come out of the turn and pin it like your used to aaron. the whole point of me going to trackside is to get better and actually learn how to set up trucks.
Shane, have you raced trucks at all this year? i raced at MARCCA like 5 times. I'v been racing trackside the most, it was fun last year running with you, hope we can race this next year, im planning on getting a touring car, so we can at least race in that!

I haven't done any offroad, no. Like I said I wanted to race some at MARCCA but after the truck guys tried to kick me out of the club, I figured I wasn't really welcome there. I'd love to do more at Trackside but I've spent a lot of time travelling, I went to the last four big carpet races (Novak, Snowbirds, USTC, ROAR Nats) over the past three months. I've only club raced twice in that time, and both times it was at The Den in Monroe.
I'm not even sure I'll make the Carpet Challenge, there's really no competition on the sedan side other than Colombo and Vang, the three of us usually have pretty good races but we can do that any week, and I doubt Colombo will even be there. And of course I haven't practiced with my truck at all. So, who knows.
I was going to get XRC and a couple larger companies to sponsor the event before the club's board attacked me. Guess we'll never know what could have been... I'm not going to stick my neck out only to get treated like that.
