light my car up
#1
Hey Folks,
has anybody experiences with light kits? I want to light my HPI A-Class up. Therefore I would use the Tamiya (#53909) Led Light Unit TLU-01.
Has somebody tried that kit?
How are the leds attached at the body?
Greets from Munich

Althought not Led Light Unit TLU-01, the pic should still explain itself.
You will need light buckets on the shell and they are held by a plastic clip and screws to the bucket. If u can't find any light buckets u can always do some DIY

Because the TLU units are designed to plug into the receiver, mounting your body can also be a pain trying to have just enough free wire to plug it in/unplug when mounting or removing your body but not so much wire it gets caught in things. You can bypass the receiver and run a separate battery but you lose the neat features and have yet another thing to secure somewhere with the battery.
Overall, I like the programmability and functions of the Tamya light units but the high price and PITA of dealing with wiring and space issues can be a letdown.
